The "Big Lots" store at 10280 S.W. Park Way in Cedar Hills is closing. There tentative date is May 15th. They told me it's a bad location. They're not moving to a new location, so the closest store will now be in Aloha. After checking out Big Lots nationally, the chain is doing very well across the country, so this seems to be the real reason. This was the former Safeway location for over 30 years but now it's land locked from Sunset Hwy. since the 6 line highway was built. There is no real easy access. The store has to depend for the most part on nearby housing for shoppers and it's not enough. I wonder who will move in next?

Betcha it will be one of those damaged, nearly expired, useless, surplus places. The Safeway in Rainier suffered this fate. Went into the place and it sucks! Old crap, piled around at prices near retail. Those things appear to be able to survive nearly anywhere.
