1. You still have a Super 62 bumper sticker. 2. You know that I-5 is the "Baldock Freeway" and even occasionally refer to it as such. 3. You miss Richard Ross and Bosley on KATU 4. A good day of skiing on Hood is a couple hours in the morning, and an hour and half in the afternoon. 5. You have not been "carded" at an Oregon Liquor store since Bush #1 was elected. 6. You remember when the Ducks had just two uniforms...home and away. You also remember when a good Duck football season was six wins. 7. The young clerks at Fred Meyer call you "sir" or "maam". 8. You can name atleast five KISN DJ's from the 60's, or ten if you frequent the other side of this board. 9. You own Nike gear older than your high school kid. 10. You will call Macy's "Meier & Frank" for atleast the next three years. Please add your own "signs of middle age in Oregon"...

Mrs, I still hear the traffic reporters say "Banfield" occasionally, but "Baldock"...somewhere that got lost. Perhaps it doesn't roll off the tongue as easily. 405 is the "Stadium", and Hwy 26, of course "The Sunset". To my knowledge, the later I-205 never developed an alternate name, other than "the bypass"...(the bypass that is 15 miles longer!)

And the stretch of I-5 from the Fremont Bridge to Hayden Meadows is the Minnesota Freeway (it sits on top of what was Minnesota Avenue), but you never hear that one. I also still think of "East County" as being between Portland and Gresham, but with annexations it is now part of one or the other.

And I still call it Union Avenue. My "62 KGW Makes You Feel Good" sticker is on my toolbox.

"Riding bicycles from Portland thru the countryside to get to Gresham." ahem, ever hear of the Springwater Corridor? You know your middle aged if you've never heard of the Springwater Corridor.

Redford: "To my knowledge, the later I-205 never developed an alternate name, other than 'the bypass'..." The proper "East Portland Freeway" or "Veterans Memorial Highway" probably are too long to use in a quick traffic report.

Kq4, wasn't even aware of those names. Kind of like up in Seattle, the 520 bridge across Lake Washington is the "Rosellini" bridge,(former governor) but NOBODY calls it that! But some names live on, like the Banfield, the Sunset, etc. Anyone's guess as to why some names stick and others don't. I guess to keep this thread on topic, it's one of those things that us middle agers wonder about.

1. Driving to Vancouver on Pacific Highway, 99W. 2. When Sunset Highway was Oregon Hwy. 2. 3. When Powell Blvd. aka Powell Valley Rd. was Oregon Hwy. 50. 4. Going west on Sunset Highway and turning right at Sunset Hills cemetery. 5. Going west on Sunset Highway and turning left into the medium area to cross traffic into 75th St. 6. How about when Canyon Road in Beaverton was two cement lanes. 7. When Oregon Highway 217 was Hall Blvd. 8. When there was a bridge to Tomahawk Island.

You feet no longer squeak when you walk due to the wetness in the Northwest they only go "Squish, Squish"! A nice day is 65 and raining. You long for the days of the 15 minute commute from Vancouver to Downtown Portland. Your 25 year old cassette case (filled with degraded tapes) still has a 92.3 KGON sticker on one side and a 101 KRCK sticker on the other. You used to listen to 62 KGW in your boat on Prineville reservoir while camping there. (The reservoir worked like one huge antenna for AM radio)
