Well, for those of you checking out the real estate around Otis, in particular, the Panther creek neighborhood, here's an update:

The further up Panther Creek Rd one goes, the cheaper the real estate!

It does appear that the neighborhood is on an upswing . . . the Panther creek water district has been busy in the area with improvements and there are LOTS of properties in the area. Indeed, and the very end of the road, there has been substanical improvements . . . of the 2 driveways at the end of the road, one has a nicely painted sign with house numbers while the other has a fairly new and locked heavy duty industrial strength gate blocking the driveway with a building permit(??!!) attached. Indeed, there was no sign of the location's dubious history.

However, those of you looking for a deliverance-style compound to gawk at won't be disappointed. A mere 200 feet before the end of the road exists a trailer-park-trash homestead to end all trailer park trash homesteads. There are numerous others along the way as well.

While the area may no longer exactly resemble the place KSKD described, keep those windows rolled up and daughters at home!

Oh...I have seen the king of trailer trash homes and it is in Cougar Washington on the road into Yale Dam! OMG.....The only thing mobile on that lot is the home and not the 100's of vehicles that live there!

Hey that would be a good radio contest. Have people submit a photo of what they feel is the worst trailer park trash home and the winner gets a prize as well as the trailer owner. The station could post the candidates on the website and let their registered listeners vote on the winner!

Did you cross over a small bridge near the end of the road?

If so, that's the place and it looks like somebody sold out / went to jail, etc...

Following most of those little coastal roads, eventually leads to trailer trash. Some worse than others.

Thanks for the update! I've not been that way in years.

I should have taken pictures back then.

kskd, I didn't notice a little bridge (because for one thing, it would have blended in with the trash which often came up to the edge of the roadway!) but looking at the lay of the land, it would appear there would be one further down the road beyond the locked gate.

dark t, cougar, yes, I can imagine that area having trailer trash havens.

sounds like a good contest premise. End of the Road Photo Contest! Submit what you find at the end of a road and listeners vote on the best, worst, etc. winner gets a 30-year-old travel trailer held together with duct tape.

K-Hits, paying attention???

"winner gets a 30-year-old travel trailer held together with duct tape."

You mean K-Hits would give up their mobile unit as a prize?
