Unfortunately, you are correct sir. They did indeed spend time on that. I believe it was discussing car farting.

as DJfresh would say, "i think we need a new sports station 1080thefan sucks dont u agree."

For those of you too high and mighty, you need to hear the "Crepitation Contest." It is a sporting account of a farting contest created in the 1940s by the CBC. It is truly a classy piece of humor. You can listen to it at the bottom of this page:

Your mind may be changed about fart humor!

I'm ok with fart humor.

If it's really great, as in George Carlin "test fart" great, air it.

Larry, I would never consider myself "high and mighty". Indeed, I have been known to fart on many occasions. Of course, mine don't smell...:-)

Maybe they're trying to promote it as a new sport!

Let's try and be half serious.

This wasn't National Lampoon or Bob and Ray.

This was a local sports talk station at 6:15 (or whenever Leykis went to commercial and I flipped it over).

Are advertisers aware what these guys are talking about ?

Are they happy about it ?

This was the most juvenile, pathetic radio I have ever heard in my life.

How do these guys even have a job.

I'm not saying it was criminal, but it was talent-less drivel.

The only things I listen to anymore are the Dan Patrick Show and Mariners baseball. The local programming is a disgrace. They are to sports as the Portland Mercury is to journalism -- lowbrow, immature, dopey and completely irrelevant. It is the same kind of beer quaffing college kid laziness that feeds both outlets.

The Fan would sponsor a public execution -- if it would save their sinking ship. Unfortunately, the station has lost sight of sports, has slowly slipped from format to become a "men's lifestyle" outlet and since the core audience is gone, farting is all that is left to bring to light. Truly the last cheek chattering gasp from a once good sports station.

Something tells me that the Canucks had more hockey reporting nestled next to their pioneering flatulence than this so-called sports station had in their latest exploration of vapors and wind. We have a great deal of local sports to cover and someday, someone will cover it again. I wish these gentlemen all the luck in the world in their soon to be newfound careers at Foot Locker.

They were in a meeting with the boss and one of them farted, having no other real skills or talents it became painfully obvious that they finally had something to talk about on air.

Are you sure that this contest was about farting in a car and not about farding in a car? In some municipalities, it is illegal for the driver of a motor vehicle to fard while operating the vehicle. Farding while driving is primarily a problem that women have, although men who work as mimes or clowns may also fall into this dangerous habit.

Farding: "A word derived from the French and means to apply make-up."

Yes, we definitely see that going on. Normally while talking on the phone.

the thing I notice is during morning and pm drive the only spots I hear are psa's, promos and network spots.
