As of this Sunday afternoon, the Beaverton TIS station at 1610 AM is back on the air. They are playing the same announcement that they aired in their first round of tests over a year ago.

Thanks! I was looking for something to replace 910 AM on my car radio pre-set.

I'm beginning to believe Beaverton City Hall turns on the WQCI718 transmitter once in awhile to document to the FCC that it's in use, otherwise they might loose their frequency to another organization. Why else play the same tape from 2005? I'm betting in a few days WQCI718 will be dark again.

That didn't take long. WQCI718 is off the air again.

Whoops, missed our chance to alert the lonely DXers in Finland.

Beaverton: Proud sponsor of Prairie Dog Radio!

(Though it could be: Come stay in Beaverton; we'll leave the TIS on fer ya.)

The two ODOT TIS stations in Eugene/Springfield rebroadcast the local weather station (KEC42 at 162.40 MHz) when there is no road construction to report.
