Former KEX newsguy Rich Johnson has landed at the White House...Here's the story from ALL ACCESS:

Fox News Radio Names Johnson White House Correspondent
FOX NEWS RADIO taps RICH JOHNSON as WHITE HOUSE Correspondent. JOHNSON has been with FOX since 2005 as a WASHINGTON-based correspondent and before that served as a weekend news anchor at ENTERCOM Talk KIRO-A/SEATTLE and business anchor at sister Business News KNWX-A. JOHNSON has also worked at ABC, AP, FOX O&O WFLD-TV/CHICAGO, and as the founder of SPORTSPAGE.COM.

"RICH has brought the strong voice of an experienced journalist to FOX NEWS RADIO from day one," says Managing Editor MITCH DAVIS. "He is a master at fair and balanced reporting at its best."

Congrats Rich! A far cry from flying over Seattle freeways in a cesna!

EDIT: Thanks, Mystery. Cessna, of course.

Gawd I hope he didn't fly over Seattle in a cesna Paul. A Cessna is MUCH safer. :-)

Thanks to all. I've received raises and titles before, but I never got a press release! (ode to Red Buttons' 'never got a dinner' routines).

I miss the family and the Dungeness crab back home, but you can't say no to a gig that forces you to ask the State Department for 24 exrra pages in your passport.

And yes, the back of Air Force One is nicer than N622CA, aka KING SkyView.

And I can never throw stones at anyone messing up grammer and spelling on this board anymore when I failed to catch the Fox PR folks messing up the name of my Web site: SportspageS. Plural sports, plural pages.

Congrats to ya, Rich. You want Dungeness? We can probably make that happen. Pick up a phone between assignments.

Would you believe... my very first real radio job? Weekends starting in 1970, while still in high school. Played a lot of muddy preacher tapes on Sunday mornings, and a lot of Ray Conniff later in the morning.

My friend Rich is at the top of his game on the biggest playing field there is. Anchoring hourly casts, anchoring long-form coverage of major news events, doing two-ways with affliates (KXL here in Stumptown) and now - officially named to the job he has been doing so well for a year or more - White House Correspondant.

This is a well-deserved honor for one of the really nice guys in our business and I am thrilled for him!

I'll vouch for Rich being at KUIK...It's where I taught him everything he knows! Or was that everything I knew? Whichever - been watching your career with pride, my friend. Heartiest congratulations!

One last thanks to all. Bob, I'll take you up on that crab offer in April.
Dave, I think the big lesson I learned from you was the proper length for a necktie. (and a common sense of irony working for a boss who insisted on ties, but not on non-rubber checks)
Mark and Dave, thanks for making my dad look good with the Portland Chamber Orchestra.
Bruce, not enough digits in the cyber-universe to sum up what I owe you.
Now, let's please make this site an RJ-free zone for a few months! (but not too long :-)
