"CNN THE MOST TRUSTED NAME IN NEWS" What is with all this crap about Anna Nicole Smith? Why are the news networks (most of them) lowering themselves to this drivel? Please, somebody, tell me that the mentality of the country has not slipped to this level.

Trailer Tramp Trash is big news dude.....get with the times!
We don't need to hear about the guy who saves a small child from getting ran over buy a bus or anything good like that!
We need to hear about who Britney did last night or how much of a Ho Paris is!

Yeah! Exactly!

Who cares about the guy downtown who rescued an entire family from a burning apartment building, or the lady who died recently and left her entire life's fortune in her will to Habitat for Humanity? Who cares about that?

(Shame some of America's most credible news nets have basically devalued themselves and now choose to piss their reputations and credibility away by reporting little more than celeb gossip............)

What REALLY pisses me off is the tabloid shows like "Extra: Your Entertainment Magazine" or "The Insider" being somehow passed off as legit news. These probably serve as much purpose on the air as the dirt on my carpet does to my apartment's cleanliness!
Who needs it??

You could get better news coverage by listening to Radio Havana on shortwave (6180 kHz). :-(

"Why are the news networks (most of them) lowering themselves to this drivel?"

The same underlying reason that radio programming is so limited.
Lowest Common Denominator yields largest market share.

Sad but simple.

"Lowest Common Denominator yields largest market share."

If you are suddenly intrigued more by a dead millionaire stripper, than our boys fighting overseas, you are the LCD.

Exactly right. It is everywhere. It easily explains this phenomenon too.

Dittoheads.

If you get your political POV from a pasty fat drug addict who hasn't seen his feet (or his kazoo) since he was 8, you are the LCD.

I dumped extended basic cable a few years ago partly for this reason. The mainstream media SUCKS. Obviously someone watches it but I refuse. CNN is almost worthless. MSNBC has some appeal but not enough to make me watch it much.

Say what you want about KPOJ, but they haven't talked about Anna Nicole Smith almost at all in the last two weeks. :-)
