What happened to the evening syndicated show? Thought that was doing well. Still don't get why they have Tom Parker on late at night....He could on right after Victoria Taft...not in the middle of the night. The last thing the world needs is a repeat of Clark Howard....

Clark Howard should be gone. Match Victoria with Tom for an hour between their shifts. Bring Professor Eisinger on more and allow his clever repartee' with Victoria to keep us in stitches. Herb

I recall reading elsewhere on this site that Jay Severin (sp?) was dropped by his network (or else he dropped them, I don't remember the details). I have no idea why Tom Parker is on so late at night when few are listening and even fewer are calling. The fact that KPAM is live&local at 2 a.m. but not at 8 p.m. is one of the most intriguing mysteries of Portland radio.

Last night Cal blew out the Beavers. That was the last OSU game KEX carried. Now KPAM gets them. KPAM has been searching for an identity for so long... liberal... conservative... financial... now they're K-BEAV... football, basketball, baseball, anything involving anything from Corvallis. That should help their talk lineup loads.

I've seen a lot of times where jox are moved to crummy slots because they have a contract with the station -- and the owners are trying to get them to quit so they won't have to pay them off. I bet thats what Pamlin is doing to Parker.

Wow!!! I'm trying to remember the first time I heard an OSU game on KEX...I think it was 1962 with Bob Blackburn's play by play... Paging Craig Adams: Do you have a fix on when KEX started carrying Beaver football and basketball? I recall they were the originating station of the Beaver network for many years. KPAM had better be hot with their OSU promotions, as it'll take awhile to shift the association of OSU=KEX!

Mark: Beaver Baseball was on KXL in 1928 with Chet Blomsness as announcer, switching to Rollie Truitt by 1930. The Beavers moved to KEX with Rollie in 1933. Another move to KWJJ in 1942 with Rollie. Then by 1953 The Beaves were back on KEX & KEX-FM with Rollie & Bob Blackburn.

Craig--With all due respect-- you were talking about the Portland Beavers, not the OSU Beavers. The Portland Beavers were and still are a professional AAA minor league baseball team

As you can see, I don't follow sports. Didn't make the connection. Just saw "The Beavers" name and remembered what I had documented.

That's OK, Craig...you're excused! If you ever have any free time to look, the Oregon State Beavers rights is another research project. Yikes! MORE WORK!!! Anyone else care to contribute to point us in the right direction? By my count, KEX and OSU have been partnered in some way for over 45 years!!! Therein lies the challenge that KPAM will face...

OSU did move to KFXX for three years in the mid-1990's.

I was not aware of that, Paul... That's what I get for leaving town in 1989!
