Now... as I was traveling in Eugene I thought 102.3 was HOT AC. You have got to be joking. Attached is a list of hot ac from R & R. I dont think they even play half of these songs. Seems to me, KCNR 97.1FM was a R&R CHR reporter in the early 80\'s, but actually played more AC type music.

Yes, Radiogiant...Star 102.3's playlist is a joke. It's no wonder they scored a 1.4, 12+. I feel bad for the PD, who probably has very little control over the songs they play. If 102.3 had stuck to a true Hot AC format (with the above songs), they'd surely be doing much better right now.

KCNR and KGW, for that matter, were playing the CHR of the time, which was decidedly soft. The music began to pick up around 1982 but both stations kept the tempo and evolved to AC. I doubt if most listeners knew the difference until KMJK returned to CHR after a run with very soft AC.
