Since most of the good stuff is rolled out during the first half, here are mine: (so far) 1. Blockbuster (mouse) LOL! 2. Dorito's accident (the winner in a competition, not bad!) 3. Snickers accidental kiss. Hilarious. 4. Sprint (connectile dysfunction...nice parody!) 5. GM's robotic "all by myself"...classic Of course, a wildcard could emerge in he 2nd half, but doubt it. Now, please excuse me while I enjoy the half-time show with Prince re-hashing hits that most have not cared about since 1988.

I also liked the robot having a nightmare, but Emerald nuts won out for me with the "preventing Robert Goulet" spot.

Yes, and it's good! I missed all the ads. I went to see "Volver", which means I also missed most of the "Puppy Bowl" on Animal Planet. I think that is so funny! (Saw Prince, odd choices & set up)

The Puppy Bowl is something that I often cite as somewhat genius. I didn't know Animal Planet airs that - I only remember VH1 doing it a few years back. Animal Planet and I have an odd relationship. I mean, I am animal lover - but who " green-lighted " Animal Cops? It's always Detroit and it always shows the worst in humans. It's by far the most depressing show on TV. ( And I include According to Jim in that batch ). Prince covering Foo Fighters - never gonna see that again. For those that are into it, rent An Evening with Kevin Smith. It's footage from the writer/director on the college lecture circuit telling really funny stories. Look for the story involving Prince. Pretty hilarious stuff. How was Volver?

In the estimation of all the folks at our party, this was a very poor year for commercials. Very little 'great' new stuff--lots of re-hashed ideas. It is sad when the best one was the promo shot with Oprah and Letterman. And at the high cost of air-time, how does careerbuilder.com get any return on their expenditures? Wish that P.A. Carlin, our expert at the Boregonian, would watch and comment on the same things that the viewers do--rather than talking about someboy's latest boyfriend (K. Federline). Wish the brass up on Broadway would let this guys contract expire and give someone else a chance to wirite about TV--and mention RADIO once in awhile. OldDuck
