The other morning I woke up at 3 am from a dream that was a bit odd. No I was not dreaming about the Yugo finally coming out of the repair shop, I had a dream about food. I was eating a pepper baccon Tillamook Cheeseburger from Burgerville, but instead of having a hamburger bun on the top and bottom of the burger, it was replaced with a Krispe Kream donut on the top and botttom of the burger. It tasted so good, I actually woke up drooling, at least, thats what my dream made it sound like.
A burger with Krispee Kream donuts in place of the buns, I think my taste buds were having an orgasms. Any body else have any weird cravings or like food items that are out of the ordinary.
My Roommate used to make Kraft Macaroni and Cheese, but he would load the top with Catsup. I always thought that was disgusting, but he loved it. Lets hear your crazy food items or cravings.

Mashed potatoes with gravy and tartar sauce was a favorite cafeteria science experiment when I was a kid. Scared everyone, made them laugh and was pretty tasty.

I once dated a woman who liked to scramble Rice Krispies into her eggs.

I used to love sandwiches made with Tillamook cheese and my mom's home-made raspberry jam. Now it just sounds gross.

I've already admitted to the popcorn & Raisinettes® mix (at the movies only!)

When I was in grade school my mom would make me cream cheese and olive (green olives) sandwiches.

Thanks for this thread...I had forgotten about them. I'm going to have to make some for lunch tomorrow!

Doritos,and cottage cheese 'dip'.

Also,I once made nachos, and grabbed the wrong tub out of the 'fridge, got cottage cheese instead of sour cream, and dumped a big blob on top.Whatever,it was still yummy.

You people want something that only sounds a little weird but it is really, really good?

Take a crispy full of flavor green apple and cut it into little cubes. Baby loaf of tillamook cheddar into and equal portion as the apple. A little bit of a crisp dill pickle the same way. Then mix up a healthy sized batch of tuna fish and pour it all together. Mayo up some bread and spread liberally between the peices. Eat up to your hearts content. Best tuna fish sandwich I ever "ET"

Yum Yum Yum

I make this while grabbing a bite at Sweet Tomato's or any place you sever yourself. Add vanilla soft ice cream to your Coffee. Start the cup filled a 3rd full of ice cream, then add the coffee. Mix up and you have your own Iced Latte, without the Starbucks price. I can't get enough of it!

Brings new meaning to "Finger Licking Good" doesn't it?

Craig: That's a great drink! Tried it last night with some ordinary ice cream, nuked for a moment or two to loosen it up. Tasty!

I love popcorn and potato chips mixed together! Not Pringles, Tims or anything fancy but just plain, rgular-flavoured Lay's.

And Justin, the Kraft Dinner and Ketchup thing is actually pretty good...if you want variation you should try it with barbecue sauce............

Ketchup and Ginger Ale reduced in a saucepan to make a very good sauce for meatballs very similar to a sweet and sour sauce.

Or try ketchup and Coca-Cola, and making pork chops in it. (My mum has a recipe for it and that's practically the only time I come home for dinner any more, other than Thanksgiving or xmas.....)

Pepsi does work to some degree but doesn't tenderise the pork as well as Coke. (Not enough acid content, probly.) Also Diet Coke or Diet Pepsidon't really do anything other than make it taste horrid!!

I should try the ketchup and ginger ale over meatballs thing tho, or maybe Chinese take-away??..........

Shyguy, Throw some granulated garlic, toasted granulated white onion, a big pinch of cayenne and some white vinegar and you'd have an excellent BBQ sauce!

We should start a recipe thread! (Ok, Ok I know that's not really a "guy" thing, but most of the top chefs are men!)

Know the difference between a chef and a cook?

Amen Skybill. Growing up in my household my father was the cook although that might have something to do for the fact that he was a chef on a Merchant Marine cruise ship based out of San Fransisco in the 60's.

Here is my take on the whole cooking thing and it is indeed a bit stereotypical but anyhoo.

Men make better cooks as in meat the meat of the whole meal.

BUT women make for better bakers and pastry arts specialists.

With all that said my mother can't cook to save her life.

Shyguy, Yep! I do the cooking here at home but I don't bake. My wife and daughter do that. If I'm out of town or something, my wife can keep the kids fed, but there is a lot of take out food when I'm gone!

I have one that grosses my wife out to no end.

I LOVE to cook up pork, throw in Cream of Mushroom Soup (concentrated, not adding milk) ... let it simmer for a good long while and cook into the pork. I then eat it over steamed rice.

I know it sounds nasty to some but my God I love it.

Try that same thing with a pressure cooker sometime. The Pork will be so tender you could feed it to a baby!

Bacon on peanut butter toast. Mmmmmm good! Artery plugging, but good!

Note: must be good peanut butter. Look on the ingredient list. If it says anything other than peanuts and salt, throw it away!

I just remembered making the world's greatest starch and fat bomb with an old roommate. All we had was instant mashed potatoes, spaghetti, a stick of butter, the last of some cheddar and a head of garlic.

We measured out enough water for the mashed potatoes plus a little bit more. We boiled the spaghetti and when it was done we made the mashed potatoes with the whole stick of butter, chopped garlic and shredded cheese.

It is very tasty, but unfortunately, "Spaghatoes" sits in your stomach like a tub of gassy buttery concrete for about 72 hours. We abandoned the remainder of the experiment in the back of the fridge. It was disposed of after it started to make noise.

I think an "oddest thing I ever ate or found" in a radio station or tranny fridge would make an interesting thread. Especially since most radio folks don't really dawdle around or gather things up when they leave a job. Of course, anyone with a "work fridge" probably has great stories.
