I've been watching with interest how this group of candidates handle the smears and jeers that are going to come their way.

Obama seems to have a solid strategy. Essentially, you play fair ball or you don't get interviews and access on par with the others playing fair!

Nicely done!

Grown a pair? hes showed the coward he is, anyone can give an interview to a fawning reporter, its the hard hitting ones that take courage.

Hes basically saying, Waaa, Waa, if your mean to me, i'm going home.

No, he's saying the venue is not worth his time.

Big difference.

Funny how the bashing threads are heating up huh?

We are hearing a lot of ideas from the Dems, just like they said they would do. From the Republicans, we are hearing a lot of dirt!

What I'm missing is all the good news from the GOP! Their front runners are gonna do what for us exactly?

That's what will win elections, not working double ass overtime to show how bad the other guys are.

FOX spends a lot of time doing the latter, not the former where Democratic candidates is concerned. This is why Obama considers the network less than worthy of his time. If this trend continues, a significant number of people are gonna grok what FOX is all about.

Good for us, good for Obama, bad for FOX.

Like I said, nicely done.

Nope.

It's not blame the messenger either. It's just not in Obamas best interest to entertain FOX news(tainment) network.

Realizing this and acting on it is a leadership move that should have the effect of:

-encouraging other solid candidates to do the same thing

-encourage FOX to reconsider their practices

-improve general public awareness of these issues (It's not like a whole lot of people read informative sites like Media Matters.)

-diminish the perception of credence FOX has with ordinary people.

(They are not fair and balanced, and they don't earn top marks for how informed their viewers end up being, after having watched their aggressive combination of news wrapped in opinion.)

All of those things are solid non-partisan things that will, in general, benefit everyone involved, including FOX. Heck, their quality of production is high, they are innovators in this regard. Would be nice to take that leadership and combine it with programming that actually IS AUTHORITATIVE, wouldn't it?

On a partisan note, it will also raise awareness of their clear preference for the GOP, despite the GOP clearly not acting in our best interests as Americans in general.

I am a CEO. I make millions. I don't have to talk to reporters.

I am a sports star. I make millions. I don't have to talk to reporters that are predatory.

I am a politician. I make millions. I have to talk to reporters that are predatory, but only until I am in power. After that, they read from the cards my staff creates.
