A word to the wise. If you do not have a good strong firewall/antivirus program running then stay away. Hackers and data theifs will be all over this. also under no circumstances broadcast any financial information without having the SSL security on it. Packet sniffers will be running overtime and you can Bank on that! |

Yeah, I won't even do a financial transaction on a wired connection without SSL. But open WiFi is certainly not new to Portland - we've had it for years, just not city-wide. Personal Telco has been doing it for a long time. Most McMenamins have free WiFi. In fact, open up your laptop all over Portland and there's a fair chance you can pick up an open WiFi network. |

There are places that even have PC's you can use for free. I cannot believe it when people sit down and sign onto their email and bank accounts. God are they nuts. Ever hear of keyloggers! Geez just leave your wallet on the PC while you are at it! Most place are honest and re-image the machines nightly by it only takes one not so honest place or employee to muck up the works for you! Always air on the side of caution when in doubt! |

I don't suppose they are sophisticated enough to run an individual wireless VLAN for each connection are they? Na....silly question! |

Sorry but PC cannot take your call right now. His video card is being upgraded and a new pacemaker has to be installed before Vista can communicate with you. Please leave a message and PC will get back to you! |
