After hearing that a POS band like KORN will be playing an MTV Unplugged Concert, I think The Unplugged thing with MTV has become tainted. Once a great way to hear acustic versions of bands like Nirvana, Aerosmith ect, has Now brought KORN onboard,Unbelievable. If I was to make a shit list of some of the worst bands in the last 25 years, KORN would be #1.
What are the worst bands in the past 25 years??? Lets hear them, and your thoughts on KORN.

You mean MTV is still doing "Unplugged" shows? Wasn't that over like 10 years ago??? (Sorry, don't have MTV on my cable, never watched it when I did.)

I stop once in a while when channel surfing...I miss the old days of MTV...Michael Anthony swinging through the air with his Jack Daniels Bass, ZZ Top "Legs", "Hot for Teacher", you know those great rock video's from the eighties! Now it is all Rap and POP.....blyeuch!

Hey Andrew, the show was 10 years ago, BUT apparently MTV feels that there are plenty of decent bands worthy of bringing the show back! Yes there is plenty of bands but the word decent needs to be removed.

AND people wonder why kids these days are listening exclusively to Classic ROCK,THERE IS A REASON!!!! Im only 25 and I have pretty much given up on the rock scence today. The rock music coming out today is boring, bland and just plain CRAP! I can't stand KORn but there are plenty of other bands I hear on the radio today and go WTF.
Here is my top 10 list of the worst bands over the past 25 years, granted there are too many bands to list, because lets be honest there is plenty of CRAP out in the music scene today.
10. Nickelback
9. Matchbox 20 and Rob Thomas solo- AWFUL!!!!
8. Goo Goo Dolls
7. Hootie and the Blowfish
6. Trapt
5. Korn
4. spin doctors
3. Daniel Powder
2. James Blunt
1. blink 182

In my book KORN ranks right up there with MVD...I mean MTV. They deserve each other! Kind of like Ted Turner and Jane Fonda (although they are divorced now) MTV used to be good waaay back when. Now it’s truly trash TV.

I'd rank any band where the singer just screams and the musicians (term used loosely) all sound like they are playing different songs.

My son used to listen to that "screaming meme" music, but he has since quit. He likes a variety and more times than not when I get in the car after he's been driving the radio is on KGON.

I don't disagree with any of Justin's list above!

Korn is the Brittney Spears of ROCK! Disposable, stupid, forgettable, and will never make a dent in music history. I think Korn and Brittney should make a song together it can be called
"craptacular garbage". Id rather stab my eyeballs out with a fork than listen to Korn or Brittney spears!

I haven't watched MTV since Marsha Quinn was a VJ . . . well, actually since "120 Minutes" was cut.

Ahhh yes Hot For Teacher ... now *THAT* was MTV at its finest.

I couldn't even NAME ten new rock bands, I don't listen to that crap. And I don't consider Britney or Paris music, hell I wouldn't fertilize my garden with that stuff, it probably has the effect of Round-Up.

Ohh, let's see:

10: Pink Martini
9: Justin Timberlake (no offence TimberFake)
8: The Shins
7: R.E.M. (I actually don't think they are particularly "horrible", just *very* over-rated, like.....)
6: U2 (which I think seems to suffer the same "self-righteousness" R.E.M. seems to have. All that aside, there are quite a few U2 songs I really do like, don't get me wrong....)
5: anything coming from American Idol, possibly the sole exception being........wait, I guess there isn't one. Damn.
4: Daniel Powter
3: James Blunt
2: Christina Aguileria, her caterwauling of "Beautiful" ought to be banned from radio/Sat play as a sacralige to Elvis Costello!!
1: Paris Hilton (and if you were to ask me who she was, heck not even five years ago, I would have replied that it's the hotel near the Eiffel Tower!! *badadum bumpsssshhhhh...*)

Isn't it weird, the stuff people seem to be masquerading as "music" nowdays? (How many times haven't we all heard that one before throughout the years.....)
