I've been trying to do this, but I think that I'm not tuning in early enough. I tried around 4:30 PM today, and for a while I heard two stations beating against one another. One was KGO, and I'm now sure what the second was. This second station disappeared within 10 minutes or so, long before sunset. |

You might have just missed full power operation... local "sunset" for the station in Jan. is 4:30. |

Heard it this morning, but the signal took a dip about 10:00, so I did not get a clear id...got KT, then the bottom fell out! (No they were Not playing K.T. Tunstall) |

Something about the "San Francisco Sound" will stunt for the entire month. These are all well known acts from the bay area. The regular format debuts March 1. |

Assuming fccinfo.com is right, and the most recent Application is correct, KTBI should be almost impossible to hear at night in Oregon, Washington or anywhere in Western Canada, but at least sends some signal in other directions than West during the day. The original Construction Pattern effectively had the same "West only" pattern, day and night. |

Radio Locator shows that the "local" signal contour on KGO extends for more than 110 miles over a fairly significant portion of the pattern! If their propagation model is correct, the big lobe that goes northwest into the ocean has a local contour extending about 300 miles! That's a pretty big signal. |

I think Adiant is talking about KTRB 860. |

I'm hearing KTRB 860 tonight sporadically through substantial interference. Last night it was almost completely unlistenable, a little KPAM, a little classical, and a little who knows what. |

Just got a clear id of KTRB from my location in Hillsboro... The trick is to null out KPAM. I was just using a small portable (Kaito 1107) with one end pointed toward the KPAM towers. I found that I had to tip that end up about 45 degrees to get a good null. KPAM and KTRB are nearly 90 degrees apart from here, so when KPAM is nulled out, the antenna is pointed fairly well for decent reception of KTRB. |

62kgw: Yes! And I've done this to KSFO before! Think it goes back to transposing the "F" first because of all the research I've done on the "KF" block stations of the early 1920's. |

I think it's in Fresno. |

KSFO (1960's) did the SF Giants games and also there was network of other stations that did the games also. Certainly one was in Fresno. |

Sorry for the confusion between KTRB and KTBI. I said "KTBI" but meant "KTRB" (above, on patterns). |
