The interesting thing about this is that it is actaiully 2 smears in one:

December 13, 2006

“there's another tactic conservatives will likely use to combat Obamamania. They'll launch a savage and despicable whispering campaign against the guy (Barack Hussein Obama, etc.) and then blame it all on Hillary.”

http://www.tnr.com/blog/theplank?pid=64733

January 16, 2007

“Hillary's team has questions about Obama's Muslim background”

http://www.insightmag.com/Media/MediaManager/Obama_2.htm

The Echo Chamber….

The debunk….

“Insight attributed the information in its article to an unnamed source, who said it was discovered by "researchers connected to Senator Clinton." A spokesman for Clinton, who is also weighing a White House bid, denied that the campaign was the source of the Obama claim.”

I'm more concerned about Obama's ties to the Daley machine.

As for his denials of his ties to the Muslum school, I remember when the Lt Gov of Calif, denied he had ever been associated with a group pushing to give calif, Texas etc back to Mexico.

Obama is going to have to stand up under a ton of pressure in a presidential campaign. His charming smile has taken him this far, but it won't go much further. This is his first test.

If this stuff is false, he should be able to put it behind him. If true, shouldn't we know?

Since the demos have been attacking the republican leadership for their lack of military experience, I'm sure they will hold Obama and Hillary to the same standards.

OK, I'm not supporting Obama here (he is after all a Democrat!) but if I remember correctly from the article I read about his Muslim schooling it was only something like from the first thru fourth grades.

In the same article it mentioned that he tried cocaine and pot. Again it was 15-20+ years ago.

I don't see what relevance any of that has to do with anything now as long as he doesn't carry those practices on today.

Now, before anyone goes off saying "But all the Republicans made a big deal about Clinton and his pot", it's not that he smoked pot as much as he made the ridiculous statement "I didn't inhale". Yeah, right. I never inhaled any of the pot I smoked 30 years ago either!

When was the last time you had a beer or any drink in your mouth and didn't swallow? (No nasty comments!)

Both parties will dig up any dirt they can on every candidate and then the media will blow it way out of proportion.

Sorry for the rant....My cynical side about politicians is rearing its ugly head again!

The subject is not Obama's fitness for service.
That will flesh out during the campaign.

This is about a predicted, calculated, and coordinated smear campaign.

The reason I brought this up is because I was at a family gathering Saturday night and my brother-in-law was all over this "Obama is a Muslim", obviously parroting what he heard on Faux News. the day before.
It's obvious he bought it hook, line & sinker.

Actually its all part of the process, if he cant handle something like this he can never handle the presidency.

Remember when Pat Shroeder cried? end of her political aspirations.

Look at all the smears against President Bush.

You obviously miss the point of these "attacks." Republicans are not being criticized for not having military experience, they are being attacked for wanting to start wars and send other people into harm's way almost gleefully, it seems, without having served themselves. The correct word is "chicken hawk." And notice that Republicans like Colin Powell who have themselves experienced war firsthand seem the least inclined to support quick miliary action. Isn't that funny?

Show me one Democrat, ANYWHERE, who has criticized a Republican for lack of military experience when it was not in the context of being a war monger without experience.

So your comparison to Hillary and to Obama is false, because neither one of them have been warmongering. If they did, they would certainly be open to the same kind of criticism.

It will always be going on.

A majority of the agenda is not popular with a majority of Americans. So, what's a desperate GOP to do?

Dress up pretty, lie, cheat and smear!
