Deane is so great at dismissing things for Republicans that he hammers on Democrats for. Amazing hypocricy.

There is a clear difference between the Wayner and Deane; namely, intent and potential two way conversation.

With Wayne, it was a sounding board period. No amount of discussion was gonna matter because his intent was advocacy. Now I've no problem with that. I do that here and elsewhere often, but almost never get nailed for it. Why?

Because it's a give and take.

With Wayner, this board became a captive pulpit. He leveraged our collective online friendships here so that he could get his message out. That's not cool as it's all take and no give.

Deane has his issues, as we all do. But, for me at least, I don't see the intent there, nor the leverage seen in Wayne. Despite the clear hypocricy, it's not universal, nor is it constant. That makes all the difference in the world to me at least.

Deane and I have had some great conversations, where we did not reach consensus at the end of the day, but did both get a chance to really push hard and learn something about each other and the issue at hand.

That's what we are here for, so IMHO it works out just fine.

Warner, on a more "normal" board Deane would get called out a bit more, but on THIS board Deane just doesn't have the poop dumping capacity of wayne.

You know if I wanted a promoter I would have to say that regardless of how I feel about Wayne he did get through to everyone. It has been what, about a month now and everyone still talks about him. He made an impression no matter how you fealt about him. you still remember his one sided discussions and that is what he was all about. He is probably still reading and grinning everytime his name is mentioned.

On a personal note there is no comparison between Wayne and DJ. DJ has two way discussions were Wayne just preached. I don't always agree with what DJ posts but from what I have seen he will discuss his reasoning with you as to why he feels a certain way......try and do that with Wayner......you just wind up beating your head on the wall in the end!
