I was just in Texas...

Ugh!

President George W Bush Airport, President George W Bush Turnpike (with a big ass toll too), etc...

Tried as I might, I could not find the President George W Bush shitter though!

Maybe you should've checked the TP.

In Austin, it's embossed with his image.

I'm so glad someone cracks up when they read my crap. I know some here think that my mind and my sense of humor is in the toilet and that it stinks.

Bada Boom.

Not me!

IMHO, the place is just not the same without your perspective!

My current fave:

You wrote about going to the Walmart, looking to stock up on candies for the movie. The freakshow is a bonus!

So completely true!

I swear, I need to "borrow" some cheap sunglasses off the rack next time I go in there...Then my stare won't be quite so obvious. The Elvira Look-alike with the Pnuematic (sp?) chest was spellbinding. I just couldn't look away.

I haven't seen anybody looking like that since I (won tickets and) saw Peter Frampton at the Clark County Fair a few years ago...mullets, fried perms, hot pants, acid-washed jeans, they all came out of the woodwork, or maybe the Copper Penny to enjoy Frampton Comes Alive amidst the tantalizing aromas of sweat, Jovan Musk for Men, corn dogs and farm animal poop all mixed together.

What a treat!

If I ever go there in the Pacer, I'll try to leave a nice big "rest" at each and every one!

Hmmm... leaving a George might just end up being a favorite pastime!

I'm pretty sure I saw George W Bush... Oh well, maybe it was the relatives I was with, constantly telling me how glad they are about Bush being in charge of the war on terror. I've been brainwashed!

Interesting Texas stat:

(non scientific, but interesting)

When people found out I was from Oregon, they were often eager to talk politics. I found this interesting in and of itself. But the more interesting bit was the impact of gangs. A majority of people I spoke with rated gangs above terror in terms of an immediate threat.

(was about 5 people ok?)

Also, some discussion about toll roads was interesting. We don't have them here and hopefully we won't. But they have them there and the general consensus was they are a good idea, provided the dollars remain in the state.

Currently they don't, for a growing number of toll roads. As people find out about the deals made by the current administration to sell off infrastructure to foreign entities, they are not pleased.

The big ass Texas road, that is supposed to cut out a half mile chunk throughout the state, is a popular point of discussion as well. Issues of eminent domain, infrostructure ownership, and the general futility of the thing are all up for grabs.
