I tuned in the other day and heard them interviewing some guy from the show "Survivor". I guess my question is why ? Did they run out of sports topics ? I hadn't listened in a while but I've heard that these two guys are terrible. Thanks for reaffirming what I already heard

As a Portland native and a recent visitor, I am not a big "fan" of the Fan. However, you hear more talk shows on sports radio talking about pop culture including movies, actors, television, and woman. It is nothing new! Sometimes you may have Dan Patrick talking about the TV show "Lost" for a few minute or discuss what celebrity he met on a plane.
And another thing, is Portland a sports town? I don't know if it is! I live in a radio market that has two sports stations. However, this market is rated between 80 and 100. I think Portland should have a second and better sports talk station!

AM 970 "Solid State Radio" runs "Fox Sports Radio" 3am to 7am weekday mornings.

And, yes...they do talk about movies and shows and women.
