I personally think it rank of Eddie to have given Michael the boot in favor of his son. Michael started with the group and does not deserve that type of treatment. It would be awesome if Diamond Dave told Eddie that he would not tour without him. After all he was also a great backup singer as well as a phenomanal BASS player.

Anywho.....I think Sammy will show up and Eddie will play "ERUPTION" without the guitar and Sammy and Mike "The Other Half" will walk after graciously accepting the award.

On March 16th he can legally drive. Way to young to have the pressure of a national re-union concert for a hall of fame group. Eddie needs to seriously re-consider having Michael be the Bass player.

An interesting point was brought up today. Should Gary Cherone be included with Van Halen induction into the hall of fame? I do not know all of the rules but one of the qualifications for nomination to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is that your debut album must be at least 25 years old. So even by this rule Sammy would not qualify until 2011. So should Gary be in or not. I do not care for the album but he was part of the group and they did promote that album with a small tour did they not?

I think the 25 year ruling (I thought it was 30) was on the BAND itself, not the album. AC/DC made it in a few years ago and it was before the 25th anniversary of Back in Black, their first album of course with Brian Johnson.

I still don't give a hoot what the Rock and Roll HOF does until Rush is inducted. They just aren't relevant IMO until then.

Being a VH fan of both David and Sammy, I would love it if they could somehow do a tour where they each sung their respective songs.

Sohran, Roth and Haggar already did a tour together last year.

They made it to the end of the tour but decided never to do it again.

I think it might happen again. Give it another year or two and we will see.

Obviously the only solution is now that they should be divided into 3 groups with each group having a lead singer and England's Brian May leading the charge against creative differences. They should agree upon " Operation Guitar God " as the neat title and banish Gary Cherone to Cuba with Chris Cornell and they will never be allowed representation from any agent in the United States. Emails and phone conversations should be tapped/taped and released on Youtube.

All the while, we should, as a music loving republic, completely ignore the true threat ( Shakira - because she is taking a job away from Madonna ) and make everyone take the socks out of their pants while boarding the tour jet.

We'll get Michael Jackson as our leader and " decider " for the whole effort.

Eddie is Eddie and the only thing that might, might change is that he will become sober.

If he were smart he would bring the whole group together for a re-union tour. Eddie, Alex, Michael, Dave, and Sammy. Let Dave and Sammy pipe their own respective style as Dave really does not like the Sammy style and that is cool. There are enough fans for both styles to sell out multiple show's anywhere they go. I myself would be disappointed not to here both era's of that great band in a concert environment.

I can't see them doing anything until Eddie sobers up, but even then it's hard to envision Dave and Sammy on stage together. Sammy doesn't need to do that ... he's had a great career outside Van Halen ... Dave hasn't. And what about stepping all over Michaels's toes with the Wolfgang move? Eddie has done a lot of damage to the chemistry of both/all of the lineups, don't you think?

The only thing Ed could do at this point to redeem himself would be to tell Alex to head up the re-union and leave it all up to someone else and all Eddie do is show up and play that guitar like nobody else can. NO MATTER THE SONG OR SINGER, just play the damn guitar!

There was a picture of Eddie in the Oregonian on the day that it was announced that he was going to rehab. At first glance, I honestly thought it was Janis Joplin.

But, Janis resemblances aside, Eddie's got much bigger problems than substance abuse issues. He's terrible in interviews, rambling, off-topic, ranting, doesn't make sense, etc. And, well, let's face it, David Lee Roth is also an egomaniac in his own way. I'm surprised they all lasted together as long as they did.

I am not surprised that the reunion is now off (yet again). What surprised me was the initial announcement this year - my first thought was, c'mon guys, now you're just crying wolf. Stop jerking everybody's chain.
