Seems the top-40 in the UK will include bands that sell downloads. This means it is now possible to hit the charts without a contract and physical media being the ante in.

I find this very interesting and will be watching where this goes for a while.

Could really be a shake up in the music industry. Frankly, we need one. It's stale.

The internet changed the music industry not only with downloading music but all other aspects of marketing. This has been in the making for years since the internet got real savvy in it's presentation.

I know many independent bands and artists who do quite well and have a solid following because fans can get their music easily and have access to the band too. It's a win win for the band and their fans.

This will be fun to watch because it's almost anti-corporate in it's ability to work around the system.
