$7.25 is a solid increase. That would put the minimum wage far more in line with actual work value than it currently is.

This wage works well in many parts of the country. If those currently paying the minimum can't make money at the higher minimum, others will.

In the end, we have fewer people below poverty level. Maybe we pay a shade more for a taco. Big deal.
