Hello Vgis! That's really cool, how you're streaming the station! Yes, I kind of got the idea that Larry is not really crazy about the idea of having a station website, much less, streaming the station's content. Not really sure why, exactly, but it's his station... soooo lol I'll check out your photos "and" the stream"!

I like the look of the "website" and I'd be excited to see KLYC online. Online content. done right, just enhances your presence and gives listeners another venue to enjoy the station. Keep up the good work.

Streaming a station without permission is a no-no. Streaming their music or any spots with AFTRA talent is a big no-no that could get you, and the station in trouble.

Cool photo, Steve. I noted you once worked at KBCH. I believe they're at 1400AM. Any idea of their coverage area? I know I'm getting close to the coast when I can pick up their signal.

KBCH was originally on 1400 when the maximum power on local channels was very limited, They moved to 1380 to increase power to 1kw daytime and moved back to 1400 after nighttime on locals was increased to 1kw.

It all makes sense now. It also helps me to realize that realistically, ya gotta be near Rose Lodge or even Otis before you can count on much of a KBCH signal.

That "fringe" map line must be under absolutely ideal and infrequent circumstances.

The KLYC "website" was just a "mock-up". I had originally planned to show it to Larry to see if he might be interested in maintaining some sort of web presence but he saw it and was not at all interested, So the pages have been removed.

It's sad, Steven. Tell Mr. Bohnsack that HE COULD MAKE MORE MONEY.

Sell ads and give clients a premium position on the web page. It could more than pay for itself AND INCREASE FREQUENCY OF IMPRESSIONS.

It's a win-win-win. Mr. Bohnsack needs to realize that a website can only help KLYC and level the playing field for a smaller radio station.

They're not interested in more money. Klyc is Larry's retirement nestegg. They will never do anything more than the bare minimum.
It's been that way for years. Yamhill County needs a REAL radio station. Not just a jukebox.

Maybe they figure the average KLYC listener doesn't have a computer.

I can see why Larry doesn't want a website: it shows what's "behind the curtain".... and there ain't much behind THAT particular curtain

Well, Larry didn't fire me, but I "have" left KLYC. It wasn't because of a problem with Larry, though. It just wasn't worth my time to continue on, with only one hour per day, of voice tracking. At least I was there long enough to cover Stella and Eve's vacations, so something good came of my short stint at KLYC . I wish Larry, Stella and Eve, all the best...

Websites can be hosted for $10 per month including the domain. Bohnsack has no interest in modernizing Klyc or changing it's imaging.
They will keep it until they are ready to retire and sell it.
Why do you think they won't do internet presense or even do Klyc sponsored local events? The live events they do, are because they get paid.
Why is the studio on Colvin Court?
Why when you enter McMinnville, is there no billboard or signs stating they can get the lastest news and traffic reports by tuning in to 1260 Am, and "Welcome To McMinnville?"
Big mistake to move from the Lafayette studio with the transmitter next to it.
The first time i visited McMinnville more than 15 years ago, i noticed the station. Not now!
The voice tracking and computer picking the Bohnsack carefully selected music is boring.
