I called to get the name of the new dj i heard about 4pm. Last name is Moen or something. I guess he's busy voice tracking!

You got their voice mail after office hours? And if that surprises you, then you're probably the only one.

And why try to make this an issue, when you waited two hours before calling?

This is one subject that is definately a non-issue.

Was that on the (503) 472-1260 line?

Inquiring minds would like to know.

Did 'ya call because you were interested in the DJ, or because you thought it was tracked?

Could have been a solid VT.

I wanted to ask the dj his name. I haven't heard him before.
It's very seldom you hear a different voice on Klyc.

Hello Herb,
Thank you! (scared to answer your question) LOL!! Well, I wasn't "live" but it would have been me, if it wasn't Eve. Eve and I are the only announcers at KLYC right now. It's voice tracked. I "wish" that they would allow me to do a live show. I'm certain that it would sound much better. I love "live" and I love working the phones. Still trying to convice them that they need a website! Something simple, like this http://www.stevenmonen.com/klyc

Nice jpb on the Klyc website!
Larry and Stella don't like computers or the internet!
I can stream Klyc online! Especially Political Cup of Coffee.
Here's the server address:
http://216.69.181.171:26810/
I just plug radio into sound card and use Winamp to stream!
I can't seem to get an answer fron Larry if they would like to be online!
I asked Larry if Klyc had a website, and he said:
"what would we do with one?" :-)

Hello Vgis! That's really cool, how you're streaming the station! Yes, I kind of got the idea that Larry is not really crazy about the idea of having a station website, much less, streaming the station's content. Not really sure why, exactly, but it's his station... soooo lol I'll check out your photos "and" the stream"! :-)

http://radio-locator.com/cgi-bin/finder?call=kbch&sr=Y&s=C The 3 lines are for 2.5, 1.5 and 0.5mv/m. It doesn't really figure in terrain. KBCH was originally on 1400 when the maximum power on local channels was very limited, They moved to 1380 to increase power to 1kw daytime and moved back to 1400 after nighttime on locals was increased to 1kw.

Outstanding work, Semoochie.

It all makes sense now. It also helps me to realize that realistically, ya gotta be near Rose Lodge or even Otis before you can count on much of a KBCH signal.

That "fringe" map line must be under absolutely ideal and infrequent circumstances.

Thanks again...I've long wondered what kind of coverage they had.

The KLYC "website" was just a "mock-up". I had originally planned to show it to Larry to see if he might be interested in maintaining some sort of web presence but he saw it and was not at all interested, So the pages have been removed.

It's sad, Steven. Tell Mr. Bohnsack that HE COULD MAKE MORE MONEY.

Sell ads and give clients a premium position on the web page. It could more than pay for itself AND INCREASE FREQUENCY OF IMPRESSIONS.

It's a win-win-win. Mr. Bohnsack needs to realize that a website can only help KLYC and level the playing field for a smaller radio station.

They're not interested in more money. Klyc is Larry's retirement nestegg. They will never do anything more than the bare minimum.
It's been that way for years. Yamhill County needs a REAL radio station. Not just a jukebox.

Well, Larry didn't fire me, but I "have" left KLYC. It wasn't because of a problem with Larry, though. It just wasn't worth my time to continue on, with only one hour per day, of voice tracking. At least I was there long enough to cover Stella and Eve's vacations, so something good came of my short stint at KLYC :-). I wish Larry, Stella and Eve, all the best... :-)

I dunno... but at this rate I see KLYC/1260 as the next addition to the Bustos family of fine affiliates.

That station is hurting in a big way and Larry's $$ can't hold out forever. Viva La Reverb

The fact that Mr. Bohnsack won't get a website...which could be achieved using trade...speaks volumes.

I think having Eve guest-host on KPAM would be terrific. Or have her and Tom Parker co-host. Now there would be some clever repartee and upbeat, at that.

Websites can be hosted for $10 per month including the domain. Bohnsack has no interest in modernizing Klyc or changing it's imaging.
They will keep it until they are ready to retire and sell it.
Why do you think they won't do internet presense or even do Klyc sponsored local events? The live events they do, are because they get paid.
Why is the studio on Colvin Court?
Why when you enter McMinnville, is there no billboard or signs stating they can get the lastest news and traffic reports by tuning in to 1260 Am, and "Welcome To McMinnville?"
Big mistake to move from the Lafayette studio with the transmitter next to it.
The first time i visited McMinnville more than 15 years ago, i noticed the station. Not now!
The voice tracking and computer picking the Bohnsack carefully selected music is boring.
