Midwest 10-20 degrees above normal. Playing golf in Chicago. No snow in NYC in Nov/Dec first time since 1800's. Back to back blizzards in Colorado. What is going on? Global warming, El Nino, or just normal variability? |

God is angry about the Democrats winning the 2006 elections. The weird weather is just the beginning. Next, I expect to see more Regis Philbin. |

Bookemdono: Isn't funny, we now have to read newspapers outside our own country, just to get this kind of news. I believe newspaper corporations here don't want to scare us. This kind of news is bad for business and the stock market. |

Let's ask Pat Robertson to speak to God to get us the REAL story. Don't know why you all are talking about scientists, when we have Brother Pat around to tell us the truth. |

We may never know the real story as long as certain large corporations continue to influence the dissemination of correct information. |

From what I understand of this subject, there are a lot of models of how increasing temperatures would affect stream and ocean water levels. Scientists also understand the effects of changing temperatures on various types of wildlife (although I don't think that they have workable models on how this would affect an entire ecosystem). There are also models on how changing concentrations of the varying greenhouse gases would affect global climate. What is not yet fully understood is how human activity, in a quatitative sense, affects the greenhouse gas concentrations. This is where it all gets kind of murky because we don't know by how much the different types of emissions need to be curtailed. |

Plenty of greenhouse gases are released in Mexico City and in India by old or poorly maintained vehicles. And, what about college students and poor people in the USA that drive these types of clunkers? The problem is that we can't yet quantify how much these things are contributing to global climate change. |
