Art Bell: "From The Great American Southwest, and this is not a repeat program!"

Don't know many details since I missed the beginning of the program, except Art mentioning these were his first words and this was a very closely held secret. Personally I think Art had a hard time adapting to the weather in The Philippines.

yeah, I only heard the last hour, and wife said he moved back. That little fella doesn't seem to know what he wants! Maybe not so much the weather, but the masses of humanity. Nothing beats the solitude of the high desert.

Damn, I guess the sale of his GEO is off the table!

Well, he said during first hour that they are now freezing, and they almost got back on the plane to return to phillipines. Also stated that they still have the minila condo, and he left his ham equipment in philipines. On the other hand, they did bunch of paperwork for (legal) immigration to usa. Cats are still in manila, but alledgedly will be shipped in a few weeks. So, this could go either way?

Another strange thing, the radio station he owns in Pahrump. Was never put up for sale. Back in November Art said on the air. He was looking at buying a house in the Phillipines.

Ramona Bell was KNYE's Station Manager when she died. Art first said he would sell the station since he wasn't involved in the day to day running of KNYE. Since that first statement:
__________________________________________________________________

June 2, 2006

Karen Jackson, the new Station Manager of KNYE, 95.1 FM, in Pahrump, Nevada, has a lot of career experience and success in business. But not in running a radio station.

A friend of Ramona Bell, Ms. Jackson took on the prodigious job of running KNYE when Art Bell left the country to marry a 23-year old he met on the internet, before his wife of 15 years, (and owner of KNYE) Ramona had been in her grave 10 weeks.

Wouldn't that have been a call on his prediction show!

Caller: "Art, I predict that Ramona will die in a few days but you will marry another Filipino in 10 months, move to The Philippines, get her pregnant but before the end of 2006, you will move back with your new wife to Pahrump."

Art: ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR FRINGIN' MIND? (I just hope Ramona didn't hear this!)

ART: "Wild Card line, you're on the air. What's your prediction for 2006?"
CALLER: "Art, I predict that during your upcoming vacation trip, while you are asleep in the RV, Romona will die on the RV couch and then in a few days you will get an email from a 23 year old Filipina who just happens to be the sister of the young lady that one of you ham buddies from the midwest just got married to. Within 10 weeks of internet dating, you will go to the Phillipines to me her and promptly get married. Then you will buy a condo in Manila and have your ham gear and cats shipped to over to the Phillipines. Soon after you will tire of the tropical heat, the crowds of people, the crazy driving, and the constant global warming typhoons. Then before the end of the year 2006, both you and new wife (now expecting) will move (back) to Pahrump, leaving the ham gear and cats behind in Manila. What do you think of that prediction, Art?"

An explaination was offered last nite:
He said that they decided to move (back) to Nevada because of that anti-Phillipino internet letter (written 10? years back by someone claiming to be art bell), which keeps re-surfacing over there.

One big hole/ inaccuracy in this piece "His son had been kidnapped and raped." I believe that this close but twisted a bit. Did not one of his guests spread this shit around the internet. It came out later that there was another Art Bell Jr at the same high school and he was raped by a male teacher. Art sued his former guest for libel and slander and settled out of court.

Can any Art Bell haters and or fans back or refute this story?

No, but (Georgio Moroder-"Chase", up and under), "from...the Kingdom of Nye, here's Art:
Good evening or good morning from whatever time zone you may be in, I bid you a fond hello" One of a kind. Glad to have him back and would rather listen to him anyday over George Noory.

I have personally found Art in recent years to have lost his magic touch. At the same time when Noory started it took some time but he has grown on me. I cannot stand Ian Pundit, Hilley Rose, and Linda Moulton Howe.

Hopefully the kid on the way and the move back to Pahrump will ground Art enough to where he can get back to his glory days of what Coast To Coast once was.

I want more on the John Titor story too! Love that shit its just amazing

Whether or not the John Titor story is pure insane genius or a genius of fiction it is utterly amazing how so very close he is to actual events and the world sentiments in general.

It is kinda interesting how after you study the story I have started to see mentions in mainstream news stories specifically about Switzerland's CERN lab, and how they actually are moving forward in the direction that Titor explains.

I have heard rumbles of a movie that will be awesome.

I encourage all those of you reading this thread and I believe Craig will agree in that this is a website that you really all need to take an hour or so and check out.

How old would this timelines John Titor be anyway?

Last night there was an equipment problem. A box he called a "zepher" was acting weird which caused a noisy/echoy effect for the first 5 minutes until he "fixed" it. What is a Zepher box?
Also, he said Saturady was kaput because of massive power failure in Parhump, plus it was cold.

Zephyrs are an overly expensive dial up device for sending audio over a phone line, like a comrex but add lots of 0000s to the price.

Better sound though, I guess.

All this is interesting for a radio show and people have there likes and dislikes. At one time I did listen to AB especially talking about shortwave or general topics. But of late,IMHO,he's a few bricks short of a load. BTW, How is Hilly Rose? I used to listen to him in the Bay Area. He did fill-ins on KGO in the mid to late 90s. Where is he based now? His son Jed was an ABC correspondent he passed away from a brain tumor

Hilly Rose pulled huge ratings on LA's KFI and KMPC for years and could hold his own on any topic in the days before most talk radio became a partisan political scream-fest.

Rose also filled in on Art Bell's and Larry King's overnight radio shows when those shows were, at different times, #1 overnights. I don't think Mutual or TRN would put their top rated shows in the hands of a "horrible" fill-in host.

I stand by my further statement. And no I have never done radio before. I was bored to sleep when Rose filled in for Bell. I am sure that if Hilly Rose was considered that good and had great ratings up and down the west coasts major markets that he would be host weekday nights of C2C and not George Noory.

Mr.Rose must be close to 80, which might be the best reason not to be working regularly. One nice thing about most radio voices, after a certain point they can come across as sounding 20 years younger.
