Chris's post is not an easy one to follow, but here's my paltry contribution to the thread.

I don't want or need anything. Not a friggin' thing. Don't even think about it. I can go buy my own box of See's candy, thank you.

A necktie.

I only wear one maybe one or twice a year, but still, that would be awesome.

Preferably one made in China.

Well, I've already got it.

Been a tough year for the KSKD family, but we are all here in a nicer house, able to celebrate together and had enough for some modest gifts to exchange. I'm employed by some great people, doing a fair amount of things I enjoy doing.

Though my wife is ill, her prognosis looks good. One surgery to kick off the new year and it all should be uphill from there.

I've a whole week off!!! (fricking amazing frankly) So, we get to do some family stuff, play games, talk, watch the tube, etc..

Really the only thing I want is to move past a lot of anger, worry and frustration that's built up this year. This coming week should do a lot to get that done!

Me>>Chris's post is not an easy one to follow

Chris>>Randy-My mother died just after Thanksgiving.

Actually, I meant "not easy to follow" in the sense of trying to follow up a post regarding losing a family member with a post about wanting some trivial plastic gizmo.

Wishing you and your family the best Christmas possible as the grieving and healing process continues.

(...and it's not my intent to put down anyone else's Christmas wish list. That lathe does look really cool and it's not plastic. :-))

Not a problem Randy. I have these "mom" moments. That was one of them.

Doug-May your wife's surgery go well and that a very healthy and strong 2007 be in her future.

Just got home from the late Christmas eve service at the church where my folks have attended for years. It was my brother, my dad and I. It was my dad's first Christmas eve service without mom. Very profound and deeply meaningful.

I will spend the next hour or so alone with my thoughts looking at the lights of our Christmas tree. Probably shed a few tears about mom and yet know that she cradles me from where she is now. I really miss her.

Treasure your loved ones. Merry Christmas.
