check this shit, im super pumped about this, we are tracking our flippin sweet HD2 channel on KDWB as of 12am sunday the 24th. im really excited for this as it is another step in radio's evolution. of course many of our other stations have already had shifts for a while, but this is kdwb, world famous and shit.

i would like anyone who feels the need to check it out, go to www.kdwb.com and stream this bad boy. it's going to be super fun, i am already going through the log for my first show and i get to play such cool songs. ill have to get an aircheck for mp3airchecks.com as i will be the first to be on air.

thanks for reading this and i hope you will check it out

Hello Specialed, I'm chickenjuggler. Word to your mother.

Say, I'm curious: Did your HD channel decide to provide exactly the same sort of programming as your terrestrial signal provides? Or was your playlist for your HD signal tweeked to compliment/suppliment/provide slightly more experimental sounds or, really , anything different at all?

our HD2 signal is dance music, some rhythmic records too. it's really fun to listen to, while our primary feed is also in HD.

And what was the process in determining:

a). What the format would be?

b). Whom would " host " the show? Were there other jocks that wanted the gig? How hard was it to sell the idea(s)?

Is it all commercial-free? Any sponsors at all for the signal?

Not much HD(2) in Portland? Nine so far. One has changed format already. Four are streamed, the other five will be soon.

True, none are programmed locally, that I know of.

"Just curious...but why would anyone on this board care about a Clear Channel HD2 station in Minnesota???? This is pdxradio.com!"

Because this is the first time I have read a comment from someone who is part of an HD show.

That's why.

Now you know.

Who cares about someone who is part of an HD2 show in Minnesota? If its an HD2 show in Portland, I might be interested. I repeat, this is PDX radio NOT MN radio.

Yeah. I heard you. That's fine. So now that you know what this thread is about, is it ok if I am interested?

I'm curious about the process and if it translates to other markets.

No. You're not allowed to be interested. And pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.

Gee, does this guy talk on the air like he posts? Wow. I'll bet us in the 50+ demographic will be all over this.

Or not.

Well I was less interested in the promotion of it than the process involved in making it happen.

But hey, you're enthused and happy. That's not a terrible thing to share.

Good luck.

For what it's worth...

My early radio memories go back to 63 KDWB (yes, AM!) when they were up against WDGY 1130 for the Top 40 crown in the Twin Cities. KDWB won my loyalty when they played the Stones "Lets Spend the Night Together", while "WeeGee" wouldn't. The only jock I can recall from that era at KDWB was True Don Bleu.
...I've been warped ever since.

Let's see....The guy who started this thread started out super pumped, pointed out he was kinda from portland and that people on the boards in MN were mean, then slipped to kinda pumped and is now completely silent.

Perhaps he sucked and is too embarrassed to tell us?

"Once again...why would anybody on this board care to catch the KDWB-HD2 broadcasts???????"

I explained it already. Or was my reason not good enough for you?

Take off your hall monitor badge and back off.
