Talk about shooting from the hip. Even before formulating a new political strategy to "achieve victory" in Iraq, cowboy W is proving he's got NO PLAN.

The worst president in American history is securing exactly that and nothing else.

"The president did not say how many troops might be added, but said he agreed with officials in the Pentagon and on Capitol Hill that the current military is being stretched too thin to deal with demands of fighting terrorism."

We are no longer fighting just terrorism anymore. We are probably only hitting less than 1% on terror and 99% just caught in the middle of a civil war and stirring the pot and making things worse than they need to be!

By all means put more people in harms way and keep twisting the branch we have stuck in that hornets nest! I like to take that branch and........well you can just guess cause I ain't saying it!

George W. has the best EXIT STRATEGY in the world.....Hauling Ass back to Texas. I just wish it was earlier than 2 years from now! I am mostly a moderate but even I cannot take this man any more! 2008....Gonna vote for myself!

DARKTEMPER For President!
FOREST GUMP For Vice President!

Gonna rename AirForce One to DarkStar One! LOL
Classic Movie!!

Hey, that means that the democrats who used to denounce the fine Mr. Nixon, now have to bump him up a little higher!

Sounds good to me.

Americans stand on the shoulders of giants like Richard Nixon.

You're right, Herb - George W. Bush has made many Democrats reconsider how bad Nixon was. Before Bush, many thought you couldn't get worse than Nixon...

Until W is out of office, Nixon remains at the top of the list. After all, he authorized the Watergate burglary and subsequent cover-up to advance his own political ambitions. Because Nixon's lies were done for the craven purpose of getting and holding political power, his lies - in the minds of the majority of the members of Congress - were elevated to the level of impeachable "high crimes and misdemeanors."

W's crimes are rooted (when I first typed that it came out "rotted" Freudian shlip, eh?) just as much in stupidity as they are in political ambition, but you'd think by now being at odds with not only the brass at the Pentagon, but significant elements of his own party, that down the road he may suffer impeachment depending on how pissed off the Democratic majority becomes. His ability to ignore the mandate of the American public to get out of the Iraq civil war is unmatched, but he can't be granted the top billing as worst president until this plays out a little further. That may happen sooner or later since the Pentagon asked for another 100 billion today. Showdown in Congress time.

There was never any proof, or even accusation that President Nixon authorized the Watergate burglery.

There was plenty of proof. The White House tape recordings provided irrefutable proof that Nixon had lied repeatedly to the American people about his involvement in Watergate.

Hey Herb:

Clinton was the greatest president of the second half of the 20th century AND Nixon wasn't that bad. The truth is too many people rate their entire presidencies on one thing and disregard all the good things they really did do. I think even YOU will agree with that.

Sorry, Aok.

Reagan was the best in the second half.

Mr. Nixon comes close.

Mr. Clinton WAS impeached. Honest historians will never forget that.

I agree with you that one issue should not be the total grade of a president. But Mr. Clinton seriously weakened our nation.

"Honest Historians" Now who is going to define that one for me?

There are two things that will not work in Iraq as I see it. "Cut and Run" and "what we are doing currently." It will take some real negotiating and compromise on both sides of the isle, and whatever we have left in international diplomacy, to somehow make Iraq a workable country. Building up troops I think is the wrong move and the wrong message.

Bush is back pedaling about listening to the military leaders who are there, pretty much ignoring the commission's emphasis on finding a political solution, and just reminds me of the guy in Strangelove riding the nuke like a horse out the bomb bay doors.

Nixon was evil. He quit before he could be impeached.
Reagan is overrated, and made more mistakes outweighing any accomplishments his handlers pushed him to do.
Arms for hostages anyone?

#1 W
#2 Reagan
#3 Nixon
#4 "H" Bush

Nixon was a true crook, but overall, his decisions benefitted Americans more than Reagan and "W"'s. "H" Bush came ahead of Nixon soley because of his decision to leave saddam alone, but severely weakened, unable to create chaos in the world other than with his own people, who curiously enough, didn't seem to bothered enough to overthrow him.

"..his own people, who curiously enough, didn't seem to bothered enough to overthrow him."

Kind of hard to overthrow someone when you're being tortured, gassed or in a rape room.
