Where, when, how many, how much, what you get.

Where is Costco Vancouver, when is now, they put out 72 units at 4:00pm and at 7:00pm had 48 left, limit 1 bundle per hoiusehold, 699.99 per bundle, you get console 2nd controller, and a game. These won't last!

Don't need one but for those that want one there you go!

Not going anywhere near that technology junk. Less than 6 months you 'll need an upgrade...cha ching cha ching cha ching. And all those accidents happening with Wii. Give me the real thing and not some mock up techno gizmo that keeps me from doing the actual sport where I might get a benefit....for my health!!

Its your loss Chris. While it might not be the real thing, its the closest thing to it. My 95 year old grandma was playing it the other night, and we couldn't get her away from it. She loves playing Tennis on the Wii.

Those Nintendo Wii's are addicting. I bought one for my 8 year old and I find myself playing it more than my son. By far one of the best purchases I have made so far this year. I like to play bowling on the Wii it is a ton of fun. It also lets you downlaod all the old Nintendo and Sega Genesis games. Not to mention you can surf the web on the WII. Much better than the playstation 3 and A LOT CHEAPER TOO!

As much as I use technology for work and enjoy having it for leisure as in my computer, I just haven't found the desire to go techno gizmo for my entertainment. I have other hobbies that I feel are far more productive and less expensive and won't go obsolete in a matter of months.

My loss!!? Hardly. The money saved makes me know I am the wiser...but that's me.

Funny, but I think I am headed your way Chris.

For the first time in quite a while, I'm just not gonna snag a new console.

I've a PS2, that I've ignored for nearly two years. My wife has been ill, so I picked up the latest Final Fantasy story / role play title. Excellent art direction and sound. There is at least 160 hours of solid play @ 60 bucks or so. Best game purchase I've made in a while.

We will chip away at this when she's got the bedtime blues, otherwise I nearly always find something better to do. The graphics could be better, but they are good enough and work on a 16:9 aspect screen. Sound is top-notch and story is typical Squaresoft huge. I'm happy.

Maybe it's me, maybe it's the games, but it is a new trend in my life at least. Maybe it's beginning to work the same way with games as it is TV. I find a solid 720x486 NTSC display to be perfectly adequate for solid enjoyment of movies, etc... The PS2 seems to deliver good enough graphics for a solid gaming experience as well.

Game on guys! I'll stick with what I have and see where it goes.

If I ever do get another console, it's a Wii for sure. Never thought I would see Nintendo clearly innovating in the console space, but they've got the right focus for the longer term, IMHO.

This was A VERY SMART move on Ninetendo to put a game system that is entirely different from everybody else. Plus its interative and fun. I think A lot of parents will be just as big as a fan as the kids are. Its the first game system that literally everyone in the household can enjoy!

I totally agree.

Sony and Microsoft are trying too hard to leverage online play. Don't get me wrong, online play is often very cool, but it's not all there is to gaming.

Nintendo seems to grok the essense of the gaming experience a console delivers best. IMHO, this is gonna sell them a lotta units over the next coupla years. I've poked around the 360. Nice unit. Powerful, with some seriously good downloads.

Ongoing subscription fees and it being increasingly tethered to the Internet is a big turnoff. I have found the very best games will play from the console alone year after year. Those are the ones that are worth buying.

Parents will get this quick too!

Huh. And here I still haven't gotten over my Super Nintendo.............

At least there's no subscription fees and compared to today most of the SNES software is pretty tame. (I have a copy of "Super Metroid" for my SNES and comparing it to many of the "video games" nowdays it looks like a kid's cartoon on saturday morning! Hard to believe it raised quite a few eyebrows circa 1993........!)

That, and most of the programme cartridges currently are superfrickincheap. I love going down to the Game Trader on an otherwise-boring Saturday afternoon and buying practically all the SNES carts I can carry for about $50.........

The SNES was a really great console. The last of the 8/16 bitters, it featured some interesting graphics hardware and was just able to do 3D. We played the heck out of ours.

It was replaced by a N64 and only two carts remain today: Battle Tanks and Perfect Dark. We still go for some 4 player action on both of those.

Hey Motzark!
On the Nintendo Wii you can download all the super Nintendo games onto the Wii for a small fee. I actually downloaded Super Mario Brothers onto my sons WII. Here it is almost 20 years later since Super Mario brothers first came out and I still can't beat the Damn game!!

That game is like crack. Once you pick up the controller, you are cooked and hooked!

I miss Rad-Racer on the original Nintendo. I remember you got those cool 3d glasses.

Ya know, I have Super Mario All-Stars (a single-cart Mario collection for SNES) and I still haven't made it past the first level in the original Super Mario Brothers....and I have been trying (original NES and SNES versions, F.Y.I.) rtather unsuccessfully for about 10 years............

Meanwhile on Coleco, I practically have the original Donkey Kong licked!!

"...[SNES] featured some interesting graphics hardware and was just able to do 3D...."

I must mention, come one of those aforementioned uneventful Saturdays (i.e., rainy and weather isn't even fit for walking outside let-alone riding a bike) I find Star Fox to be one of my favourite space shoot-em-ups. Graphics might seem a bit primitive nowdays but for its time it was practically state of the art!

I also get quite a kick out of "F-Zero" (racing game) but that hasn't seemed to do nearly as well for me as Star Fox.

Dunnow, maybe being a BMX racer in real life (Casual weekend racer, NOT a Pro by any means!) seems to dictate to me that racing on TV is far inferior to the real thing.......don't really know for certain...................

But Star Fox is like crack. Once you pick up a joystick you are cooked and hooked! (sorry Missing, but that description just seemed to fit it perfectly! ;o)

No apologies, steal all you want, I'll gladly make more!

The Colecovision port of DK was one of the very best ones.

Not much into the game, but I can appreciate the accuracy in that one.
