But Plugged In, a publication of the conservative Christian group Focus on the Family, gave the game a "thumbs-up." The reviewer called it "the kind of game that Mom and Dad can actually play with Junior. |

I'm just amazed that a group called "focus on the family" would condone a video game in which you kill non-believers. That's basically condoning terrorism. |

"Maybe it's my dirty mind working here, but that doesn't sound like a proper name for a conservative Christian publication!" |

I'd like to see which pastors and churches come out in favor of this game and how they explain it. If the point of the game is indeed to metaphorically show that, "we are all (spiritually) dead without faith," as Herb puts it, then this game makes me a bit queasy. As the linked article says, the players on Jesus's side are given the option of converting or killing opponents. If they go for the kill, some prayer makes everything OK. I just don't like this because it seems to me that the risk of somebody interpreting the game on a more literal level is just too great--especially given the audience that would prefer this game: Evangelical Christians with very literal world views. |

Wasn't "Convert or Die" the game that early Christians used to play with live lions in the ancient Roman colisseum? |
