Sit back and have your popcorn at the ready.

Our new Supreme court is gonna be deciding some things before this is all over.

(scary)

W has shown one constant: He is gonna do what he is gonna do period. If anything, that's his real legacy.

What a legacy.

The most stubborn President of all time.

Wow.

I think it's clear Bush is not taking the report seriously. He simply doesn't "get it" even if he claims to have read it. He's still going to continue do whatever the hell he chooses to do in Iraq, even if he uses the Baker-Hamilton Report as a covery.

Here's what Bush said at a press conference this week:

"I don't think Jim Baker and Lee Hamilton expect us to accept every recommendation. I expect them, I think -- I know they expect us to consider every recommendation; that we ought to pay close attention to what they advise."

But clearly, Bush had not understood Jim Baker, who had said of the report:

"I hope we don't treat this like a fruit salad and say, ‘I like this but I don't like that, I like this but I don't like that.' This is a comprehensive strategy designed to, to deal with this problem we are facing in Iraq but also designed to deal with utter problems we face in the region."

Look for new phraseology, new marketing pitches, but little real change in Iraq until January 21, 2009, assuming our troops aren't overrun by then.

"I don't think Jim Baker and Lee Hamilton expect us to accept every recommendation."

Maybe Baker and Hamilton can make that clear in a press conference.

Bush is too interested in trying to save face, even if it means killing more US troops to achieve it.

How stupid can anything be. The "majority of Americans" have never looked at the report. They're just forming opinions if they happened to land on a news bit about it for 15 seconds while channel surfing.

You guys will suck up to anything.

By the way, I have no idea what's in it. For all I know, I agree with every recommendation in it. My point is that a Newsweek poll is stacked for an anti Bush outcome from people who have no idea what they're talking about. Agenda journalism got Dan Rather, it'll get someone like Newsweek too if they're not careful.

P.S. Since I dared to not agree with the liberal anti Bush line on the forum, let the crap begin.

That's actually a point well made. I can't find fault with that. It would be like, say, passing judgement on a film you haven't seen. Right? Yeah. I don't like that either.

Well, until you said " You guys will suck up to anything."

I disagree.

Believe me Chickenjuggler, most of these guys will suck up to anything that's anti-Bush, no matter what it is.

I am beginning to sense that you are one of the exceptions. There are several others.

Chickenjuggler, what a certain group here do is blindly attack anything not agreeing with the liberal viewpoint. You know, like Tora,Tora,Tora.

You don't do that. You objectively point out what you disagree with, you don't call people names, you add some nice humor from time to time, and keep things positive. If more would do this, the forum would serve a much greater purpose. People take some of these posts and themselves far to serious. Almost like politics were a religion.

Oh, I do all those things too. But thanks for noting the positive.

We're human. We reach a point of frustration and let it fly. Heck, I will proabably do that by the night's end.

So, I disagree with your compliment ( heh ).

Deane-

I hope Bush takes a real honest look at the recommendations. I think you and I can agree something has to change concerning the war. Are those changes drastic, or more time-table, or something we haven't even considered?

But I believe we need more international help to make it happen. This "going it alone" policy has really hurt us.

I agree it has, but I think the reason for it is we couldn't get anyone else to help. Maybe they were just smart enough to stay out.

"Actually, we don't."

You need to add "anymore" to the end of the statement to be factually correct.
