If you could pick one song that would never get played on the radio again, what would it be??
Mine would be "we built this city on Rock and Roll." by Starship Absolutely Awful.
whats yours?? ( I'm dying to hear Merkin's answer.)

Paulla Abduel "straight up". Every time I hear the intro to that song I want to break something or hit somebody.

For merkin its "Tree Top Flyer" no doubt.

for me, I won't go with an obsecure track but rather, a popular track that I wish to never hear again on the radio: "Louie, Louie" by any artist.

I would rather listen to that Starship tune than anything from Culture Club....GAHHHhhhaggggg

Or anything that Movin drops a quarter in the old jukebox and decides to randomly hit a selection....(doesn't matter which one as they are all crap).....and plays it on the air!!!!

"Beautiful" by Christina Aguileria.

It's a bloody insult to Elvis Costello! Quite honestly I think her caterwauling and turning the song into a screamfest destroyed what was once (I thought...you might disagree) an otherwise enjoyable song.

Absolutely disgraceful!

Joamon:
"Or anything that Movin drops a quarter in the old jukebox and decides to randomly hit a selection....(doesn't matter which one as they are all crap).....and plays it on the air!!!!"

Agreed wholeheartedly!! I hear Movin' on the radio where I work and I wish I could blow that damn box up.

Why is it so hard for someone (outside the 88.1-91.9MHz band space) to produce some decent programming for a change? I hope "Movin'" ends up "Movin' on OUT"!!

Hold the boat here.......you did not go quite high enough on that scale pal......92.3 has some great people there and a really great classic rock program!

Sorry Joamon--haven't really listened to KGON in several years so I have forgotten.........

You know, I really *should* set my wireless sometime for something other than KBOO, or Golden Hours on Ch. 10's SAP (yup, I get that on my radio) once in a while--it may do me a bit of good.

But thank you for reminding me!!

How about "when a man loves a woman" by Michael Bolton? What a terrible version of a song that I didn't care much for to begin with.

No problamo...

It's all good....

But 92.3 is all the higher my stereo can tune into though. Once in a while I go on a hike and tend to get lost in the confusing playlists and programs beyond 92.3 and feel gratified when my stereo finds it's way to it's home on 92.3

Man I just looked and KGON has been....pardon the pun....ROCK STEADY since 1974. ROCK ON

May I add another to the thread?

------- "Love Shack" by the B-52's. -------

Makes me want to BARF every time I hear it on 7890. That, or take and BURN every known copy in the largest fire-pit in existance!

True, I like New Wave and some 80s Girl bands (just for ballast, you know.....) but some songs are written that just never should be recorded in any medium!!

I can't stand that song. I like rock and roll, especially from the Beatles, but "American Woman" I don't understand why that was a hit.

Aside from rap music in general, my vote is "Cuts Like A Knife" by Bryan Adams.

The most sophomoric lyrics I've ever heard.

Bryan adams is a lyrical genius!

Worst song EVER is that pathetic song with Stained and Fred Durst "im on the outside Im looking in". GAG!
Im so sick of hearing about the lead singer of Stained, WHAT A WHINEY LITTLE BITCH!

There were two totally different songs called "Patches." One by Dickie Lee in 1962, the other by Clarence Carter in '70. Both songs blew chunks.

Damn Joamon, you beat me to mentioning Paris Hilton!

I don't care HOW popular a person is, some people just should NOT be allowed to make records! Just because a person's got a popular name doesn't necessarily mean they can sing!

In fact, DMX used "Stars Are Blind" on their new "Adult Contemporary Christmas Blend" (#EZHPB0612) CDI programme and every time I hear it I just want to rip the disc out of the machine and snap it in half. Either that, or gouge my ears out with a sword so I don't have to listen to that $|-|!7 any more. Should I get Amnesty International on the phone??

And re: Constipation~ I think that just about covers it *nods head*............

Oh yeah before I forget:

"New Slang" by the Shins. Gives me the willies.

Whenever it comes on 94.7 at work there's a joke that comes up, regarding how descriptive it would be if you replace the letter "N" in the band's name with a "T".......*sardonic laughter*

Dead serious.

Okay, flame me on now.........

The song "Hooked on a Feeling" by Blue Suede has to be the most obnoxious song I have ever heard. Why does K-Hits play that all the time?
