TALLAHASSEE, Florida (AP) -- Former President George H.W. Bush broke down in tears as he cited his son, Gov. Jeb Bush, as an example of leadership. Bush was addressing lawmakers, his son's top administrators, and state workers gathered in the House chamber Monday for the last of the governor's leadership forums. The wrong younger Bush was elected president, Jeb would have done a much better job. The real reason Daddy Bush is crying is because Bush Jr. has ruined any chance Jeb will ever be elected president.

I think daddy Bush cried for Jeb because he knows Jeb's political career is done. GW has poisoned the name!

How utterly juvenile. If a conservative made light of a democrat crying about his son's service, he would be taken to task. Get over yourselves. How would you like it if conservatives here belittled Mr. Carter if he publicly cried about a family member? The senior Bush is elderly and a war hero, to boot. To you, even an old crying man is a joke. My goodness. Liberals are 'big-hearted?' What a CROCK. You should be ashamed of yourselves. Herb

I actually felt bad for George HW Bush. It must be terrible to know that your son will go down as the worst president ever. I feel his pain.

Your schadenfreude is sickening. An old man cries in public and you make fun of it. Talk about hate. I hope you never get old. Herb

I haven't seen it. I thought it sounded kind of poingnant though. I'm a cryer when it comes to my son too. Man, I'm a wreck. I could get choked up right now just thinking of his 4 year old voice asking me for a piece of chocolate. I would END if he weren't around anymore. I would stop. So good for Bush Senior. Good for loving his kid.

troll #1 sez: "Liberals are 'big-hearted?' What a CROCK. see, right there, the troll provided compelling evidence that we are indeed, NOT liberals.

Sure. It would be a pleasure. I'll have no longer have use for the word when democrats contain their glee in what should be off-limits: taking delight in another's human, and not political misfortune. It was wrong when Chelsea Clinton was belittled and it's just as wrong when the elderly Mr. Bush is mocked. Would you find it equally amusing to make fun of senior citizen Mr. Carter? Herb

Sorry, I did not mean to belittle Daddy Bush. I love the man. He was a good president. This registered Democrat would vote for him again (especially if Hillary Rodham runs)

Like I said, I feel sorry for HW Bush, because having a son that has caused so much death and pain along with the legacy of being the worst president ever must be heartbreaking, not to mention the absolute ruining of the last name Bush.

Ah yes. The very same democrats who sanctimoniously* decried Clinton-bashing are little else but Bush-bashers themselves. Herb *Sanctimonious adj. Feigning piety or righteousness

At least Clinton can rest at night knowing that he didn't needlessly put our troops at risk like Bush has.
