This year I completely dismissed the holiday secular stamp as the "Snowflakes". I asked for the holiday stamp and they said that's it! I was surprised! It says no where on the block "holiday!" To refresh your memory to previous years, here's the name listing:

2005 "Holiday Cookies"
2004 "Holiday Ornaments"
2003 "Holiday Music Makers"
2002 "Snowmen" (I connected this to the holiday)
2001 "Holiday Greetings"

I think the problem is, the stamp doesn't represent anything made by "Man" for the first time. Maybe this is the coming thing, to pay homage to The Winter Solstice. What do you think?

Personally I think any stamp design works just so long as my Christmas (gasp!!.....) cards make it from my place to their destinations!!

<irony> And as we all know, there's nothing that gets you closer to the Christmas spirit than seeing an Elvis stamp on the cards you receive! ;o) </irony>

The USPS has 5 stamps for the holidays. Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Eid (end of Ramadan) and the generic snowflake.
