I find this a very interesting topic where freedom of religion is concerned. Either we have it or we don't. The law says we do, but an awful lot of people appear to be bothered by this.

I've only two:
No religious test shall be applied... (Our Constitution on matters of election)
Wouldn't his oath be worthless if he swore on an authority he did not consider to be the highest?
I've not thought about it before, but allowing people to swear in on the good book of their choice is quite possibly one of the better examples of the arbitrary nature of our own beliefs and how they are differentiated from the law.
We cannot mandate those among us to share others convictions, but we can ask them to honor the law common to all.

I love and respect the Bible, but I don't want any government to mandate its use. Control freaks on both sides of the political spectrum find real freedom extemely threatening.
I'll bet you, that in the ultimate show of hyprocricy, Dennis Prager and Glenn Beck will celebrate the 4th of July again next year.

Control freaks, is a very interesting way to put this! Controlling others to satisfy one's own needs is almost always completely annoying. ---> I've struggled with this often.
