Hey KDUK I have listened on and off for years since way back when jocks who used to work for you (Raney, Radway, Worden, Scott, Nueme, just to name a few and there are many more who are now at other stations and doing well, here's an idea.....get a jock say from way out of the area, like Portland who already has a show and pipe it down to Eugene so that when he has the mic on he talks about crap that is not relevant to anyone locally!!! but only to the area he is in Portland. Then get saddle him up with a sidekick...say (a girl) and they can talk about her dates and other crap that nobody cares about...call the new show Rita and Duckhead in the mornings. It could be a huge hit......Just think of the ratings!!!!! You'd pull in more teenagers than you have now instead of the college crowd you seem to think you have. It worked once or so you thought. Why not try it again? You could make Barry and Val do there thing again, there both still on the CC payroll? Come on Chuck what are you going to do to your listners next? Oh excuse me that's right, it's not about the listner it's about the dollar. What ever you decide to I am sure it will be a well thoughtout process. I just as sure we will read something similar to the original post here very soon after your decision is made when the next book comes out and it becomes apparent to us all again that you really do not know what the listner wants but what the suits are after!!! Tell us again just how many morning shows have there been in the past few years since McGuire and Steele went across the hall to KODZ??? In the words of the great Rose-anne Rosanna Danna- Never Mind

Valerie Steele is just a corporate Puppet, she has zero say over her station. I don't see how anyone can get any type of satisfaction working at A Clear channel station. I realize jobs are hard to come by these days, but still. Why does Clear channel even have pd's, its not like they have any say over their station. I wonder how it feels to be bound and gagged by those corporate suits. knowing that you have ZERO creative freedom!! Radio blows, especially cheap channel!

So...out of curiousity....if it's so horrible, why do you continue to follow the business and comment on it? If it blows, why are you on a message board dedicated to the subject that "blows?" If you have no interest in it whatsoever, what's the point of talking about it? Do you enjoy being angry about something at all times? The psychology of it all just perplexes me.

B.O.S. may just be one of "The few, the proud, the frustrated"..... and a former CC employee........... What blows is being notified that you are on the short list for a PD position, then hearing a week later that ...."due to recent business decisions the company has decided to put a hold on filling this position. We hope to be able to continue our selection process in the near future. Thank you for your understanding. If you would like us to keep you in consideration, please contact me regarding your interest." Now, that BLOWS!

The reason they have PD's in so when something goes wrong there is someone to blame...and then when cutbacks are need they are the first to go..looks good for the bottom dollar.

I think these corporate puppets aka program directors will be eliminated from all Cheap channel stations. While Cheap channel continues to degrade the product and cut airstaff they will no longer see any need for a program director. Why have a local PD when you can have someone in seattle program k103 or Z100?? It saves money and its CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP! Who gives a fuck if the product is half assed, as long as Cheap channel is saving every little penny. Thats Cheap Channels motto.
