Do you think KPTV should air "the O.J. Simpson Special," which is schedule to air on Fox next week. Already, medium and smaller markets have decided not to air the special. I know this is a radio forum, but it is interested what people think about this.

I think KPTV should not air the special because it is a waste of time!

Most tv is a waste of time, the question is there some moral reason why it shouldnt be aired, I'm sure there are a lot of people that will watch it.

I find some interesting questions, such as who actually got the money, and will OJ be able to hide it from the judgement against him, of course I have a problem with someone being found not guilty in a criminal trial, then a civil trial saying they are guilty.

While techincally thats not double jeopardy, it is to me.

This just in: KPTV will not be airing the O.J. specials but will air encore episodes of "The Simpsons" instead.

Further breaking news:

News Corp has announced the cancellation of the book and the TV special saying they regret any problems the book and special caused the Brown or Goldman families.

Think Oj will have to give the money back? I doubt it.

Plus some other company will buy the rights and publish it, plus expect a dvd soon.

Did OJ ever get his "Juiced" DVD out to stores? He's still OJ. Not exactly the biggest moneymaking possibility out there. If Fox hadn't given him the time of day to get this out there, would anyone else really have done so?

Unless it's a confession, and unless it's a news program and not the entertainment division of a conglomerate, I have a hard time thinking anything he does is going to be bankrolled by anyone worth much attention.

And I cant imagine the book selling that many copies even if another publishing house picks up the rights, because as this backlash has shown, anyone purchasing the book is going to be seen as a world-class asshole. You might as well be buying a big scarlet letter to paste to your shirt.

I think the only publications low enough to give this _astard any print are the "STAR" and "NATIONAL ENQUIRER". They will print anything and everything...true or not.

I don't know "Juiced" ever came out, but I just heard that, in the spirit of OJ Simpson's i'll-fated punking show, after the end of this term, President Bush starring in "Bushwhacked" where he plays wacky Candid Camera-style jokes on unsuspecting world leaders.

In one "Bush-whacking", Dubya goes to a small South American country and meets with the president to discuss the suspected presence of weapons of mass distruction in his country. El Presidente denies it, then Bush opens a closet and finds planted nuclear/biological weapons. The camera does a rapid pan onto the face of El Presidente. Troops swarm in and handcuff El Presidente and his staff, tell them they have just been Bushwhacked, then the US bombs the small country for 22 months until they turn over their oil.

I think this is a story no matter what. If it gets aired, people are gonna be hot over it. Lots of news, commentary and other juicy bits to air over time.

If it does not air, people are gonna be hot over it and OJ will then be able to whine about his plight. Maybe we will get a Barbra Wa-Wa interview outta the whole mess.

It's a win-win for somebody, just don't know who yet.

If I had any say, I would not air it, but would air meta programming about the whole effort itself. Some level of critical discussion could happen in that realm that's not as bad as just going for the shock and awe dollars.

I'm just surprised that some nut job has not whacked him just to get his own 15 minutes of fame, heck maybe even an HBO movie and a book deal to boot.

I have no interest in seeing this crap and I mean it. I don't care where it runs...on the TV or on the Internet...I won't watch it. If they ran this crap on every channel for 24 hours I would get a lot of reading done. So dude, are you sure you want to say "EVERONE" wants to see it.

OJ is one of those cultural oddities, people are fascinated with killers be it Billy the Kid or John Wesly Hardin , Bonnie and Clyde or Charles manson.

Can you imagine Billie on Opra?
