Whats your favorite alcoholic drink? Or Is there any interesting drink that you have tried that you really love.
Im partial to bloody Mary's. I like to make my own bloody mary's. The key to a good Bloody Mary is worcestershire sauce, Molasis, and Grey Goose Vodka.
Not to mention some green olives. MMMMM...The salty goodness, I love the holidays! Gives me an excuse to throw a few back:-)

Sucks to be them!

My favorite drink, especially during the holidays is eggnogg with lots of RUM and a little nutmeg, but not too much nutmeg. A little tid bit of info, nutmeg is a hallucinogenic, if taken too much. So go easy on the nutmeg this holiday season, ok?

So....nutmeg is to humans what catnip is to cats.....could be fun! When someone has a little to much nutmeg grab a laser pointer and watch him chase it around the room. Ever see a cat do that high on catnip....it is hillarious.....!!!!

Justin, if you can't make your own, have you had a BM (sorry) made with "Lyle Style" mix from Lyle, WA. So Yummy! You can get it at Safeway, and it's also great without any liquor added. Great for brunch. Especially the "hot" one.

My other faves:

Ginger Snap - Vanilla Stoly/Absolut and (Diet for me) Ginger Ale. Gustav's adds a slice of candied ginger. No ginger ale? Diet Coke and Vanilla Stoly/Absolut.

The Razzatini, formerly the "Raspberry Beret", in the Cypress Room (not the restaurant) at Kennedy School...shaken, not stirred in an icy glass with vodka, fresh squeezed Lime juice, and raspberry something or other liquor (I gave up trying to make it at home)...Too darn good! I have to pace myself, they aren't cheap and they go down way too fast.

-1960s Stinger Cocktail

2 oz brandy
1 oz white creme de menthe

To serve as a cocktail: combine ingredients in a mixing glass with ice; strain into chilled cocktail glass.

Champagne Cocktail
6 ounces chilled champagne
1 cube sugar
Angostura bitters

Soak sugar cube with Angostura bitters. Place the cube in the bottom of a champagne flute. Fill with champagne. Garnish with a lemon twist.

Pre-Diabetes:

The Shakespeare at Hubers
Cadillac Margarita, Rocks
La Cazuela at LaCarretta
(basically a tasty Bowl o' Booze and fruit juice that goes down way too easy, until you stand up)

Micros
Nice Wine
Port/Dessert wines

I'm a big fan of Maker's Mark on the rocks, with dash of sweet vermouth. The key is the crushed ice from the fridge. A couple of those and I have no worries.

Another favorite of mine is the "Snake Shake" that can only be had at "Al Amir".

I'm also a big fan of Widmer Hef, Black Butte Porter, and Full Sail Amber. In fact, I brewed batch of homebrew today, which will be similar to a Jubel Ale, kind of a festive beer. Hopefully it turns out good.

Found this while doing show prep:

It's not enough to have chocolate milk, chocolate liqueur and just plain chocolate candy bars--now beer maker Anheuser-Busch has created chocolate beer! But forget chugging or beer bonging; it's recommended for sipping at room temperature like you would an after-dinner drink. It's the third flavor in A-B's special holiday line that was launched in 2005. It joins last year's Michelob Celebrate Vanilla Oak and Budweiser Brew Masters' Private Reserve. The chocolate brew is 8.5 percent alcohol by volume, higher than a regular Budweiser at 5 percent, so you can get a buzz with your sweets! (St. Louis Post Dispatch)

The next social needs to happen soon, since I don't drink at home! I'll have what Shyguys having or:

Dark Appleton or Meyers & pineapple juice; or my usual well drink, tequila-OJ-pineapple (pre-diabetes)
Ditto on Lindeman! I love the Lindeman Kriek (Cherry), and the Framboise if no Kriek; they sometimes have it on tap at Higgins, so tasty!

I also had a St. Innocent something recently that was divine!

No scotch, whiskey, or bourbon for me, a little incident on my 21st scarred me for life..."Tool Kits" at the lodge bar at Black Butte. And they still make 'em! Taste like a chocolate milkshake on the way down.

A social. Yes. Please keep me in the loop on that.

Gin and Tonics ( Bombay Sapphire and tonic, two limes ).

Best bloody mary I have ever had was made by a bartender at Gustav's.

Spanish Coffees at El Gaucho. That's spanish for " The Gaucho " ( Hold the orange liquer and the show, please ). I didn't realize how local of a drink that was until I got blank stares at bars from San Francisco to New Orleans.

And you know, readin' this board, every once in a while, makes me think that it's not so much drinks that we need, but drugs.

Imagine this group after two joints passed around. Go ahead. I'll wait...

Yeah. Terrible idea.

CHICKENJUGGLER'S CONTRACT RIDER FOR RIDERS -

#1. I am an excellent designated driver. I NEVER drink and drive. However, I have no problem with others drinking while in my car while I am driving. But when we get to where we are going, I drink. Immediately.

#2. I smoke. However, I do not do it in a car or in a house. I'm very conscientious about it and will walk very far away to make sure no smoke gets in anyones face. I always have gum and you'd never know that I smoke by looking at me. I don't know what that means but I am told by many poeple that they are surprised that I smoke. Good. That's good. Right?

#3. I have a large car with comfy seats.

#4. I am a good driver. I do not take risks or stupid chances. However, given a safe chance to pass someone, I will in a heartbeat. And where it is straight and clear, I will exceed the speed limit.

#5. I like to drive. I actually prefer it. However, anyone that rides in my car listens to my music. I play to the audience though. I will NOT be the guy that is at a party going " SHHH! SHHH! GUYS - Listen to this SOONNNGGGG, man! " I have been that guy. I am no longer that guy. I hate that I ever WAS that guy. I killed him.

#6. I like to sleep in and stay up very late. If I drive someone somewhere, I am not your guy if you, you know, need to leave early.

#7. That " hair of the dog " remedy for hangovers is a terrible LIE!! Two Advil gel-caps before I go to bed and I should be OK.

#8. I don't do shots. ( Oh...Patron? OK - Just these 7 though ). But I drink beer really quickly and never drink the last inch. It's warm and flat and I went to college. Don't bother trying to shame me into finishing my last inch. It won't work.

#9. I need a bed. Futon will work too. Couch and/or floor will not work.

#10. I like my grapes peeled and fed to me at room temperature at 11:30 a.m.

#11. If anything stronger than pot get's brought out, I don't want to do it. Thanks for the offer. I like it too. Just not anymore. Not my thing. Not judging - just taking a pass. Maybe next time.

#12. I like skim milk and there will need to be some on hand at all times. Skim. Cold. Milk.

#13. I am an excellent cook. I LOVE to cook. If any chance avails itself to cook for a gang, I'm in.

#14. I'm fortunate to have some money in my life. I'll treat for a lot of things if you let me. But I won't force you. But I'll ask if I can. You can say No. I won't feel slighted.

#15. I'm a Leo. But not your typical Leo. I like to listen. Really...hey...why are you laughing?...AAAAAAnnnnyway. I have no desire to be the center of attention. Zero. But if I find a new buddy, well, we'll laugh. Promise.

Never again in my lifetime will I be associated with a Chrysler product. I'd sooner take a Yugo with a missing door -- easier to push Cochise out at highway speeds. Then Beano and I could eat at some Mexican restaurants along the way while waiting for the Yugo to be fixed.

Since Jeffrey is in my neighborhood these days maybe I could give him a lift also.

I may have to dump Jeffrey after I listened to Chix's show and read the above. Skim Milk? Cook? Oh, Lordy.

Skep, I just couldn't part with the Pacer, so I sold him my '82 white on white Caddy Coupe de Ville. The one with 20,000 gramma miles on it.

We have some church going folk here don't we? Why don't we rent out a church camp near Rockaway? I think there are many in the vacinity. That way we all have a bed and shower for the festivities.

Being that this is indeed a radio board I think that someone is gonna have to bring a stash of sticky icky. Royal Blueberry Blunts anyone? LOL

I'll volunteer to cook us all breakfast in the mornings.

I would hope that this a kids prohibited event too.

Ness have you compared the regular 10yr or is it 12yr Pendelton vs the 20yr Pendelton. Both good but the twenty year is more flavorful and pleasently better than the 10/12yr.

"can't stop lovin you" - Totally forgotten about that one. The Cd "balance" which was one of the more recent van Hagar albums totally kicked ass. That album also featured the song "don't tell me what love can do" another awesome, but forgotten Van hagar song. In my opinion, the best Van Hagar albums were put out in the 90's not the 80's. The 80's Van hagar albums were too watered down.
Just my two cents,
which is nowhere as cool as fity cent!

Chickenjuggler I hope your not saying that your finished with Patron all together. That'd be a shame a god damned shame.

When it comes to tequila the Patron label is my first choice followed closely by Souza.

Anyone ever try an FIP? Fruit Infused Patron. Recipe calls for an infusion or suntea jar (for half the batch size that is) Sliced Mango, Pineapple, and seedless watermelon, and shaved ginger layered to the top of the jar. Fill jar with 3 fifths Patron Silver and ! fifth Citronge orange liquor by Patron. Let mixture marinate for 12 to 24 hours at room temperature.

This amazing concoction of a cocktail can be served many different ways. Shaken with ice then strained and served up in a Martini or Margarita glass, with soda, tonic, or 7up with a squeeze of lime. As you get to the fruit place it in a freezer till frozen and then blend as you would with a frozen Matgarita or blend with vanilla ice cream for an amazing adults only milkshake.

Patron is a much better product when it comes to a premium tequila. And the price point is really where you start to see why. Where Patron starts at around $45 a bottle Cabo Wabo starts I believe $55 a bottle. With Cabo Wabo you are paying for a name and the not nessacary reminiscing of your last trip to Cabo San Lucas.

I have tried Cabo Wabo tequila in Cabo and was impressed but why buy it states side? Oh and don't forget the fact that you really don't have to go to Cabo anymore for that Cabo Wabo experience when you can go to Lake Tahoe's Harvey's Hotel and Casino and experience Tahoe Wabo.

/Sorry Mrs Merkin

When it comes to tequila in general though ask your self a couple of questions the next time your at the liqour store perusing the shelf and deciding which tequila your gonna buy.

If your going for shooters of tequila go with a cheaper less expensive choice in a Jose Cuervo (yuck), or Souza Hornito's. You can shoot a super premuim silver or resposado if you want too but I would not.

If your going for margaritas and cocktails go for a blanco/silver tequlia or a resposado. Now this all depends on if your using a mixer or are putting the margarita togehther in the classic traditional recipe. I have had many margaritas with rot gut tequila that were good but if you want a more sophesicated margarita I would suggest buying the cheapest 100% Agave tequila you can find ie Souza Hornitos or Tarantula Azul or blanco. Spend the time to squeeze the fresh lime juice with just the tequila and a splash of Cointreau. But if its just a cheap sugary mixer it doesn't matter.

When it comes to the more expensive premiums like Cabo Wabo, Tres Generations, or Patron I prefer these drinking methods. Silver: sip on the rocks with lime, or on occasion a super premium Lexus margarita (yeah its not a Caddiliac anymore). Resposado: on the rocks or just plain neat for sippin'. Anejo: straight up neat in a snifter great for after dinner and a great alternative to a brandy, cognac, or liquor.

Mrs Merkin I almost forgot too. You have mentioned in the past that you like me are pre diabetes. Here is a suggestion for the next time you want a semi-diabetic cocktail. If your tired of diet mixers try going to your local health food store and pick up a bottle of Agave Syrup which doesn't spike the blood sugar like other sweeteners and sugar. If you like lemonade try the Agave Lemonades on the market. They make great subsitutes for drinks that call for sweet and sour.

I had a great drink at the bar the other night.
The drink was called "Alien Urine"
sooo good!
Ingredients: Enjoy!

1/2 oz Midori melon liqueur
1/2 oz Peach schnapps
1 oz Coconut rum
1 part Sweet and sour
1 part Orange juice
Mixing instructions:

This drink is ideally made in a 16 ounce glass, but can also be made in a Collins glass. The drink is served on the rocks. Add the Midori, Malibo, and Schnaps. Add juices. Shake in a tin. Garnish with either two cherries or with a kiwi wheel.

My favorite drink:

Take a fifth of Jack....give your car keys to the designated driver if necessary....remove the cap....tip the bottle and skip the glass! Repeat as necessary until desired numbness (and usually dumbness) is achieved! :~b
