Lars ..after Tuesday you are going to have to deal with our State rejecting your boy Saxton..all your out of state sponsored tax measures are going down....in fact looking at your "picks" they are all in "flames". I can't wait to hear you whining and complaining like a little bitch on Wed am. After feasting on that, I'll be joining Ed on KPOJ for the victory celebration. Oh I forgot you don't live in Oregon. Hopefully the Wa. voters will also bend over a few of you.

The last I checked....Clear Channel is no where near bankruptcy. They own KPOJ...so the station can't be going bankrupt. Maybe the network it uses, but not the station.

Clear Channel is getting sold. The network has no more than 120 days left to exist. Advertisers wanted no connection with the lefties.

A Chapter 11 is not the end of the line. It means AAR will reorganize. Expect business as usual. I know I'm going to hate myself in the morning but do you honestly believe that advertisers don't want to have anything to do with the bulk of the 18-54 population?

Generally, except for Ben and Jerry, advertisers don't care whether their customers are left or right. They only want to generate customers. They will advertise where they think they will get the most response.

There are literally hundreds of advetisers who want nothing to do with AAR. The liberal blogs (MediaMatters, Think Progressive, BlueOregon) recently got ahold of a list of 100 sponsors who can't be placed on AAR programs. Of course they threw a huge hissy fit and hundreds of posters promised never to patronize any of the companies who wouldn't advertise on AAR. What the liberal blogs failed to say was that most of the sponsors also won't be heard on Limbaugh, Savage, O'Reilly, etc. It isn't that they don't want to be on liberal radio, it's that they want nothing to do with controversial radio. Typical hyberole from the liberal bloggers. This isn't to say the conservatives don't spew a fair amount of crap. It's just that the liberals are much better at whining when they haven't been hurt.

It's a power play only. The short term loss of potential leads from the AAR network is more than worth the potental return if the GOP remains in power. Pot odds are good, so they bet. It's that simple. Besides, if it's really that big of a deal for them to pull a stunt like this, then Lefty talk in general will do fine! If it was not getting an audience, none of this would be worth it. Pot odds would be bad, so no bet.

funny how this topic has little to nothing to do with PDX radio except for its harassing of a local host..definitely one for the politics side.....

This thread has more to do with Portland radio that the "Economy - Good or Bad?" thread. BTW, the bankruptcy court has given AAR until late this month to find a buyer.
