I will nominate KGON. Following are some of the reasons why I as a listener like it. 1.) The morning show with Mark & Brian is entertaining and Funny. 2.) They have a great audience interactive program called connect the classics which is fun to listen to and try to get one in yourself. 3.) The radio personalities are live and local talent. 4.) The Dj's have spots in other programs. Example is Iris Harrison. She has a spot where she announces the "25 Song Classic Rock Marathon" is on right after Mark and Brain...see ya then. That adds a really great personal touch to the station. Other Dj's have similar spots as well. 5.) Really great daily "Workforce" giveaway!!! 6.) Block Party Weekends.... 7.) Rock Line.... That is a good start... Their PD there I think has a mindset that a good show is the key to a successful station and I think the whole group is doing a great job. I take my hat off to you guys over there! Any others out there....lets here about em!

Okay who sent this guy a diary? We in radio, and on this board, can get into so many other aspects of the biz that we can lose sight of the listener. Your feedback is exactly the kind of comments that really do help on this side of the mic. I appreciate your post.

Thank You I am what is considered an old time radio listener in that I enjoy the DJ's as much as the music. It is unfortunate that a lot of stations lately are going Jockless with no live local talent and that many just have people simply reading liner cards and not letting them showcase their personalities with hard set playlists and no personal touch in the programs. I think that it is the corporate radio types that have lost sight of the listener. I will not listen to those type of formats even if it played nothing but my favorite tunes. One of the main reasons I have still not gone satellite is that there are still good stations on the air. KGON is for sure one of those!! Iris just did a plug for the next show with a dentist drill noise and she made it sound like she was getting drilled on....pretty funny....

When I want to think I turn off the radio and tv. When I want entertainment I just play my guitar or keyboard.

I like the music 910a, I wish they would add a few personality jocks to the mix that really know the music and understand the mind set of the time the music and radio.

I don't know about specific shows but KGON is a pretty decent Classic rock station, while I also like KINK. The Saturday night music on KINK is pretty cool. From the vibe I get it has a definite Portland feel to it. (ie, educated, full of deep thought, independant, and philisophical....)

Mark and Brian? Wow, I think that's a horrible show. What percentage of the show as a whole is laughter from the hosts? Everytime I tune in, I hear those guys amusing, and laughing at each other constantly. I find it annoying.

Since "Big_brother" has joined us, I'll mention he puts on a great morning Oldies show on Eugene's KKNX 840 AM.

Nope...not on crank.....just the drugs the pretty nurse gives me twice a day.....have not had to have the "Thorazine" any more for some time now. They say I am almost ready to get released. Maybe in a couple of months. I told them I would be good and not kill any more people who write bad things about me any more. It's just so hard though with a 1 second fuse of a temper.....but so long as I keep on these meds....everything is just peachy!!

I want to listen to a station where the only person who decides what is going out over the air next, is the guy sitting at the microphone. In other words, KMHD.

> I want to listen to a station where the only person > who decides what is going out over the air next, is > the guy sitting at the microphone. KBPS-AM, KBOO, and KKPZ might also fit this description. I am including 1330 K-Praise in this category because most of the programs there are produced by independent ministries that buy air time on the station.
