I noticed over the past few weeks that KXL is no longer participating with the "Traffic Network" in the morning, and they are just using two people. Is there a reason why they dropped out of the program that it seems every other radio station uses?

For the past several years Bill Diaz was the communications director for the Oregon Partnership, a statewide non-profit group promoting healthy kids and communities through drug and alcohol awareness, a job now held by Pete Schulberg.

They've figured out that they can sell their own traffic reports rather than give metro traffic, owned by CBS, the income from that little "brought to you by" tag line.

Wasn't KXL a Metro Networks affiliate. For the Portland area, since the 1980's.

Ooooooh, lucky us! Can you send also me George W. Bush's military records (WITH the missing physical) to my cell phone? And the minutes of Deadeye Dick's private meetings with the oil companies who are making BILLIONS of dollars off the sad little suckers on I-5? Or how about Freaky Foley's sleazy e-mails to 14-year-old boy interns on Capitol Hill asking them for sex. Now that'd be fun to see on my cell phone! And since you work for Bush News (aka Fox), that should be easy. Right, kiddo?

Bill Diaz is now the announcer for the teen quiz show "High Five Challenge" which, at the time of this writing, is seen on OPB. Although, by the time I press the 'Preview/Post Message' button, it may have changed stations again.

I've been out of the market for almost 4 years now, but I believe my pal John "you-probably-heard-of-me" Williams was the High Five announcer back in the day. Wasn't it on channel 12?
