Heard that ROBERT DOVE was appointed Market Manager at CC Portland. They have one of the nicest guys in the biz that is also highly respected in Broadcast circles. Robert is a first class act and will make things better on Macadam. No question.

Robert certainly is a class act. He pulled some strings and got me some interviews up here in Portland after working for him in Eugene. That is certainly above and beyond to go for somebody who was hardly more than an intern down there.

Everytime his name has come up has been 100% positive. Why can't radio have more people like him? Three people that I know that have worked for him love this guy. Honest & he lets people do their job without all the middle management b.s

Congratulations Robert. I had the pleasure of working under him in Albany and it was one of the hardest decisions I made when I decided to move on. Robert most certainly deserves it, and indeed he is a class act.

Its too bad a nice guy like Robert Drove has sold his soul to the Blood sucking cheap channel. I guess we all learn from mistakes.

We all have our opinions of corporate radio...some good, some bad...and I have worked on both sides...both sides have their good points and their bad points...to say that Robert has sold his soul to Clear Channel is wrong...I know Robert, worked for Robert and he's a class act. He's one of the nicest guys I know in the industry and just because he's made a choice to work on the corporate side doesn't make it wrong. He's good at what he does and deserves to be in the new position in Portland because he's earned it. And that's a mistake how?

When you really pencil it out, how many choices does a guy like Robert Dove have? CC-Entercom-CBS etc control the strong hold of America's radio empire. He at least stands for what he believes in to group people together and make the best of it. I have never heard a negative word about Robert and I have known him for many years.

It's not like corporate radio is something new. I've been around highly profitable companies that were excellent citizens and employers--like King Broadcasting Company--and I've been around some tiny-brained, slash-and-burn profitmongers who will go nameless. The difference is the people at the top. That's why the presence of people like Robert Dove, a sharp businessman with vision and respect, should be welcomed, not ripped. They're radio's best hope.

Amen Albordj....Robert is a class act. He has been working for Clear Channel for many years, so I think if he didn't like it, he would have left long ago. The bottom line is, he is one of the good guys and it is great to see that he is getting the recognition he deserves.

I have heard of him at the trade shows and throughout the various seminars. If he's half what they say, then good luck to him! Go Robert!

Look at it this way...... Maybe if there were more guys like Robert in corporate radio, the big boys wouldn't be hammered on so much for being cold and ruthless. I can think of at least a dozen MMs, and OMs in big box radio who are self serving, mindless, cheerleaders, not sure how they get there, but nice to see that a genuine "good guy" can still be in the mix!
