a vision of an energized and bubbly-sparkly olivia newton-john wearing an aerobic workout outfit appeared when i heard the "movin 107" promo, which explains the the listener the excitment-filled innovative format/flop.

after being twisted into a pretzel by the agency qweens and the directs that are tired of the hype and bullshit with every format scramble, by december they will have had enough.

i want to get ahead of the curve and present new one word format suggestions:

wizard 107 (new age)
nasty 107 (hip-hop/urban)
gallop 107 (wild-west country)

Tight 107 (male targeted hip-hop / house)
Stretch 107 (druggies, pimps, etc...)
Snaps 107 (OMFG! It's Seacrest IN!)

Ugh.

Not to be mean Wqxid, but what have you accomplished in your radio career? Most consultants I know have programmed multiple stations to big ratings in big markets. They have done this through hard work, creativity, and strategic thinking.

What is so "idiot" about these people again?

While driving my 16 year old to school this morning, I put "movin" on the radio. I told her it was a new format. After three songs, she said that all three were totally different and she did not see how they were related.

She doesn't listen to Charley, either.

I don't think she is going to add "movin" to her list of pushbuttons. She has 4 she cycles through looking for something she likes. When she hears something she doesn't like, she tries the next one.... KUPL, KWJJ, 95.5, Z100. She said her main go to is 95.5. She also said that she is shying away from Z100 lately because their playlist or whatever seems to be small and you hear too many things repeated too often. Said it appeals more to the younger teens.

A little tidbit from Programming 201...at least the version I went through. :-)

When a new station signs on the air it is almost always a mistake to alter your programming to "counter" the new station. All this does is confuse your current listeners as to what your station is, which makes them more likely to feel the desire to sample a new station.

Thought my radio was messed up but it was just IPOD static! LOL...just kidding. Not my type of music but to each there own. Cannot quite get used to Charlie....like it most of the time but they are to varied...it is just not right to follow a good ROCK HIT by Earth Wind and Fire! That is just wrong. You just get going on three or four good tunes then WHAM...it's like shifting into first at 70. Kind of wandering through the dial right now....have not found anything yet that warrants a pre-set to replace MIX. Charlie is probably the closest though so far.

Well....I thought it was time to chime in with the whole Movin 1075 debacle. I think the music is awful and unlistenable. And this is why

For some Reason the people who programed the music think that people want to hear Crappy dance songs and cheesy 80's songs every day! Im sorry but a majority of the music they play is Cheese! Who really wants to hear Vanilla Ice "Ice Ice baby" Every day? That song is fun to hear everyonce in a while, especially just to make fun of it, but EVERYDAY? Stacey Q "two of hearts"- Please! Ultimate 80's cheese.(painfully bad) I don't see how this station will have any lasting power. My bet is it will be done with in a year. None of the songs have any substance to them, I can see going to the gym and listening to this station every once in a while ,but every day in the car, NO WAY! The selections they are playing have been SO OVERPLAYED and beaten to the ground nobody will stick around. The variety of music is poor and Im hearing Madonna and prince Every Time I turn that station on. OVERKILL! Most of the stuff is so cheesy, even 20-30 year old women won't be able to take the stuff they are playing. Im in the demo and I laugh at the song selections, and thats not a good thing.

This company:

7251 W. Lake Mead Blvd

Las Vegas, Nevada 89128
United States
They bought other movin.com sites on October 6th.
www.movin1027.com was another on the same day as www.movin1033.com.
103 just beat them to the punch with 1075 as they got it on Sep 29th.
Check out the whois on networksolutions webpage. Wonder why they did not get 1033 though? If you work at a radio station and fear it may be changing formats check for whois information on the name you think it may flip to! See if your parent company bought it recently.

www.movin1027.com on Oct 9th.
www.movin1033.com on Oct 9th.

Lots of Movin activity with domain names.
But you are right that how can 103 get away with brandX address.

Hmmm....
More interesting...
www.k103.com and www.movin1075portland.com both resolve to the same IP address and arrive at the same website......it appears they just did that as a traffic grabber.
