DO THEY EVER ACTUALLY HIRE SOMEONE?

Yes, I've seen that, seems to be ongoing with both, but I'm not sure that they ever fill them. They definitely don't respond to packages OR follow ups. That seems to be the norm nowadays. An exception to that trend is Steve Richert at CC Centralia who has been very professional on a couple of occasions...........

When I moved cross country, I decided it would be a good time to stop lounging on the beach and get back in the rat race. I contacted a group in the market I was moving into(I won't disclose the name of the group, but it sounds like clear channel) and contacted them before my move. The P.D. wrote back and asked me to contact him when I arrived in town. I did just that. Several times. And he never responded, nor did the HR department of the cluster. Just what the heck is wrong with some people? Are they all really that busy, that they can't even respond with a "drop dead you jerk?" I ended up taking a job at a station an hour's drive away and it turns out, that even with the time and expense involved, it was the most enjoyable radio job I've had in years.

In the market I'm in now, I have a rather high profile sports gig. It won't pay all the bills, so, with the reccomendation of the G.M. I am now also working part-time for a competing group. Ain't life grand?
