I was at the game and snaped the pic. Klyc won't do a website. That cost money.

^^ Funny, that one.

Nice shots. It brings back memories (not necessarily all good!). I'm surprised that thing is still running!

I also thought, "Wow, look at the throngs of people crowding around the Yam Van!"

I love that motor home set up! That is nice. I also see a real live MARTI!!
Wahoo! After working with an outfit that PREFERS a cell phone, and thinks a cell phone "sounds better for remotes", I had almost thought Marti's were gone. My former employer uses cell phones for Duck pregame shows, high school sports, remotes and pretty much everything. When told a that a Marti was available (we had one in a closet) and would sound awesome in comparison, I was promptly told that us "radio guys" just didn't get it. Haha. Like I've said before, you don't gotta be smart ta own a radiator station. Just lucky.

Don't forget folks, tomorrow is the re-debut of "Hoot" Gibson's gospel show on KLYC.... I *think* it's 6:30 to 9:30AM.

Hey, at least it's a stab at local, live talent on an otherwise faceless slot on the AM dial!

So how did the Yam Van get it's name? And don't tell me the Ram Van was never mentioned.

Hey, for 35 it looks damn good!

Doesn't that qualify it for some kind of icon status?

Val, the van sure didn't have those shocks when I was there. It was possible to actually get a bit seasick since the original suspension seemed a tad squishy at times (no one's fault, really).

What I was impressed with was the dubs on that thing. It just had the stock "rims."

Vgis may definitely be right about the electronics -- still the same Marti unit we were using?

When is Bohnsack going to upgrade ANYTHING at KLYC?

I drove the Yamvan once. Piece of junk then, likely piece of junk now. But, the main thing is not how crappy it drives(I've driven station vehicles that were worse), but how visible it is. With those gaudy colors, everyone in Mac should know KLYC is there.

YamVan Rims/suspension = Les Schawb trade

No money out of Larry's pocket.

At $1.50/spot, it'd take too long to run off a trade with Chuck Colvin for a new station rig, though.

Did anyone catch KCYX's Ben Gutierrez on CNN Sunday afternoon? CNN was carrying live Quake coverage from KITV Honolulu where Ben is now a Weather Anchor. When a station does live continuous coverage like that, your bound to make mistakes. Ben was just as smooth as one could be, not missing a beat! Great Job Ben!

Maybe you saw him and didn't know it. Here he is:

Whoa! *waves at Craig* Thanks! Aw shucks. Not only was it my day off, I was technically on vacation when the quake happened. So if you caught me in the afternoon there, that might have been the spot where I hadn't shaved for three days. Oh well, that's television.

If I managed to be smooth, I credit radio for that.
