Mayor Sam Adams was involved in a fender-bender Sunday at Jantzen Beach.

No one was injured, Portland police said. Adams, who was not driving a city-owned vehicle, was driving a pickup that hit another car, which in turn struck a third car. The wreck happened at 1457 North Hayden Island Drive, the parking lot of Car Toys.

Funny, I was up that way Sunday, just not by the Car Toys...

But hey, I'm sure some people now assume Adams was completely at fault and lied about it. Another reason to dump him!!!

I wouldn't be surprised if he did lie about it. Why trust a word that comes out of his mouth?

KATU reporter (who talked with Adams for 5 minutes) on scene claims Adams not drunk.

The two individuals driving the cars that Adams hit also says he wasn't drunk.

The responding police officer from the North Precient -- the one Adams is closing -- says he wasn't drunk.

The officer's supervisor observed Adams at the scene also says he wasn't drunk.

Vitalogy has an agenda. Where's the mark foley evidence? Hmm?

Mc74 by his own admission appears to be a bigot.

There were 2 people, one of them a Car Toys employee that said he smelled like alcohol.

I think had it been anybody other than the mayor we wouldn't have even heard about it.

He was drunk, he wasn't, he's gay, he maybe kissed a minor, he waited until he was 18 before poking him.....Sheesh, maybe Dan should change the name of this side of the board to the National Enquirer!!!!

WHO CARES!

A breathalyzer would have solved the debate. Why not give him one? Wrecking your car like that is probable cause in my book. Some say a normal citizen would have had to submit to one based on the type of accident.

Assuming the mayor hadn't been drinking, he should have requested a field sobriety test to stop the public speculation dead in its tracks. And if he didn't think to ask for one, the investigating office should have suggsted he take one for his own sake. On the other hand, if he'd had a few beers...

Yeah, that stinks. Ordinary people ALWAYS submit to that, and refusal is cause for a lot of things.

Of course, if they don't ask... there is no cause.

Funny how that works.

And if you are Black, double the above.
