I met Jack Kemp during one weekend in Spokane in 1982 at a friends wedding. Jack was related to my friend and since I was in the wedding I enjoyed the chance to rub elbows with him and actually share a brew (back when I was drinking alcohol).
He made his way over to me to introduce himself. Kemp had one of the firmest handshakes. I found him engaging and easy to talk with.
He was certainly feisty and passionate on what he believed.

He always looked to be the picture of health. A good reminder that we all need to check what's really going on.
