I'd like to go to that even more than a Florida Super Bowl.

If they hold the Super Bowl in another country, then the NFL should just fold. I know I'd boycott it.

IF they are going to have it in a foreign country why dear god in London. Bad food. Worse Weather. Cup o' Tea. Mary F***ing Poppins. England.

How about some place sunny? The Southern Hemisphere is still in late summer early fall in late January-early February. Melbourne? Sydney? Auckland? Cape Town? Buenos Aires? Someplace with a modicum of sunshine would be swell.

It's not like it looks any different on TV from Florida vs London. Weather issues aside, hell, I'd LOVE to go to London and see that.

"IF they are going to have it in a foreign country why dear god in London."

Marketing. The NFL is really trying to make this game a global spectacle; that is one area in which the league is lagging behind the NBA and Major League Baseball, respectively.

Think about it - the biggest annual sporting event on Earth, packing 90,000 into Wembley Stadium, it would get Europe more into the game, the marketing prospects are out of this world with all sorts of brand new partners ... it actually makes sense to me.

The Super Bowl already is a game that is 90% attended by CEOs and executives of corporate sponsors, and other bigwigs. The common fan just doesn't come to the game ... so you can't use that as an excuse.

It would be a marketing coup by the NFL, and it would go WAY further in putting the product in the laps of Europeans, and thus generating more revenue for the NFL.

Win-win.

The NFL is enjoying considerable success. This is just a marketing ploy, nothing more, nothing less IMO. Yes, they want more international attention, but I would say the odds of moving this game to London are as good as the Lions going undefeated in '09.

BTW, will Seattle go for USC's QB Sanchez in the draft? Is Hasselback quickly becoming the "past" for the Hawks? Will be interesting to watch.

Well, they did. At one time. It can happen again.

And they do have MLS. Which I understand PDX will be joining the party soon!

Just as long as they don't move the "World" Series outside the U.S. :-)

Honestly, the Seahawks have more pressing needs ... they need to replace Julian Peterson at OLB, and they need help on both the OL and DL. And even with the signing of Houshmandzadeh, I would personally love to see the Seahawks take Crabtree with that #4 pick.

If you draft Sanchez, you're guaranteeing a LOT of money (not too far off of the $72 million the Lions signed Stafford to) to a QB that, while he has tremendous upside and seems to have wowed the scouts, only started 16 games at USC. Hasselbeck has a couple good years left, and is healthy. Get him protection and another target to throw to, and maybe wait another year for your QB, or take one a little bit later. It'd be awfully hard to take Sanchez at #4 and let him sit for a couple years, that's a lot of money on the bench.
