Actually it is the internal inconsistencies that she and Lars have that make me turn the dial. They pretend to be free market folks but when there is a free market idea like toll roads they suddenly are dead set against it. I am sorry if you want government to be more like business then don't complain about trying to monetize services and raising prices to whatever the market can bear...

A toll is a tax. They are against unnecessary taxes. They don't like over taxation. What is inconsistent about that?

What I find inconsistent about Taft opposing the idea of a toll road is that funding a road through a toll provides an element of choice. If one never uses that particular road, one doesn't have to pay for its maintenance. On the other hand, if income taxes fund roads, then one pays for road maintenance, whether one uses the roads or not.
