No but in the late 70s early 80s ,johnny and the Distractionss were in regular rotation on KGON and as a live act pretty much ruled the I-5 corridor from sacramento to Vancouver B.C..signed a major recording contract with A/M records and toured with Tom Petty,Asia,j.Geils,Joan Jett.If you are a fan of a gritty,street passionate hybrid of rock n roll and rhythmn and blues it did not get any better than Johnny and the Distractions .check out the Aladdin Theaters website for more info ...For 18 bucks this will be a dose of rock n roll you may not recover from .With no dance floor per se @Aladdin i do find this a rather odd venue for this show but hell i am there!!!!!

Well, the doors open at 7, the show supposedly starts at 8, and it's a Friday, so I'll be pushing it just to get there on time.

Warner,FYI i stopped @Aladdin thursday afternoon to pick up 2 more tix for friends Guy in ticket booth told me 650 tickets were available for this show and i bought #646 & 647 so it will be a sold out party

show was GREAT jon koonce is at his best out being a front man instead having to play guitar like in his current band.The guys played it all ranging from "guys like me" "angela" shoulder of the road, octane twilight,let it rock,My Desire,one room apartment ,rock me tonite, some cool cover songs also Princess of Detriot a cut from Mark Spanglers new cd. the show was packed packed to the rafters with about half the crowd on their feet in front of the stage Jon koonce truly is a great front man FYI most of this band will be playing at O'connors next weekend check em out a fantastic show i still have goose bumps

Yes, it was really great. We were on the floor in front the entire time. Folks were singing along, Jon was roaming the stage, the band was tight, all the guys were smiling the entire time.

How did you score the tix? also did you catch th distractions on A.m. northwest the morning of the show????

I went to craigslist, a guy had 2 tickets. I called him at 4:00pm, he still had them! He said he'd been working all day and all the messages had gone to voicemail, but I called just as he was getting off work and he answered. I raced down and met him at the Alladin. Either pretty dang lucky, or fate!

There were lots of folks taking pictures up front, they looked semi-official. I'm looking for them online. If you know, let me know.

I did find a link to pics, on the KGON site. Iris wrote a bit about it also. I had a nice chat with her after the show also, what a sweetie. Our kids played Little League at the same time.

Warner,saw the pix they are great geez i wish the show was coming up this friday instead of already past.I may have to take a night off to check out Jon ,LaRue and Kip at the rock creek tavern some wednesday night

If anybody interested Johnny and The distractions First two Lps are being offered on one cd Completely remastered on the Jon Koonce website for 15.00 dollars

I actually put thier first two albums on cd by recording from the original vinyl. But the remastered might be cool too.

No, I don't. I've done some searches, but haven't located any yet. Next time we go see Jon, I'll ask Mark, he seems to be the best source of information on the days gone by.

Heard Via E-Mail from Jon Koonce ,he says the Video shot from the balcony @aladdin theater was excellent in both picture quality and sound .He will consider releasing this on his website! So, who has the huge plasma with the kick ass sound system to watch this if it sees the light of day>....

Dude, you beat me to it again. We went and saw Jon play Saturday evening, talked at length to Mark. He mentioned the video from the concert. That will be fantastic!
